I shouldn't think so, he's been dead 2000 years.

But I'm sure if you believe in jesus he can grant comfort

I looked at the Wiki article you linked to, but found nothing saying Jesus can grant wishes, only mention of people praying for wishes to be granted. Maybe I missed something. Can you direct me to the part of the article that says whatbyounsay it says?
Here it is?

Religion[edit]

In Christianity, especially among Roman Catholic, Lutheran and Anglican denominations, believers pray novenas to request a favour they wish to obtain.[2]

I really can’t agree with the wording or even this process of novenas although God wants to answer prayers. We have to take all of the Bible to balance a thought such as:

James 4:3
AMP
You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires.

I wonder what would happen if I rubbed Christ's belly. Would I get wishes granted? Would I have seven years of good luck? Would I just be profaning another religious icon?

The sentence doesn’t say Jesus can grant wishes. It simply says that believers pray for their wishes to be realized.
It also doesn't mention who they're praying to. It could be the Virgin Mary or the Holy Spirit for all we know.

I'll have to go out, in the cold, across town to buy a crucifix. This was supposed to be a lazy day.
You could save a few dollars and just stop by a Catholic Church or hospital...

...and wait 'til spring.
