Jesus Cult

If Jesus & his disciples were to appear today with their teachings, they would be classed as a cult, & with Jesus claiming to be the son of God, would be looked upon as a lunatic, that would end up in a padded cell.

Tho with his turning wine to water/ feeding of the 5,000 etc, he would be a colossus in the world of entertainment.

Yet in today's sceptical, judgmental world they'd all be issued with A.S.B.O's

That'll be one less myth in the world

(& that might not be a bad thing) :faint:

2000 years, a loaf of bread, and a cup of wine, made all the difference.

For 2000 years, a loaf of bread and a cup of wine... made all the difference.

Sorry, you can't distract from my point that what today would be considered to be madness is considered "religion" by the ability of long periods of time to change the focus, by adding a comma.

Any faith and/or religion started with just one person. The only difference between a cult and a religion is the number of followers and how mainstream the belief is. So, with that in mind, of course it was a cult at first. So was any other.

Organized religion and cults both manipulate the followers, tainting their thinking with nonsense... in my opinion that is.

What, you didn't know...? Organized Religion is a dressed up term for "Cult"...There's really no difference in to two...and people would be hard pressed to find any differences.

Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda. 35 countries, 287 radio stations.. millions, not just "hundreds of thousands" of followers.

He receives cars, homes, millions of dollars, watches.

I'm curious to see how big this guy gets. How long it will be until he's as big as Sun Myung Moon.

He's 63 years old, in what appears to be good health, and he's got the money and the followers to spread this thing worldwide.

Yeah, it's interesting to think what will happen if his followers carry on after his death to the point of a world wide religion. Who knows, in 50 years we might be able to say "I remmember when that was just a cult". And have our grandchildren roll their eyes and say, sure Grandpa, sure you do. But it makes a wonderful example of how new religions start and evolve.

If the word last's another 50 years Christianity will be viewed as a cult.... and those with your premise will say ... now what?
