Jesus Did Not Die, He Is Going To Come Back

Just as all the other prophets, Jesus ('Isa) (as) is a chosen slave of Allah whom Allah assigned to summon people to the true path. However, there are some attributes of Jesus distinguishing him from other prophets, the most important one being that he was raised up to Allah and that he will come back to earth again.

Contrary to what most people believe, Jesus was not crucified and killed nor did he die for any other reason. The Qur'an tells us that they did not kill him and they did not crucify him and that Allah raised him up to Him. In none of the verses, is there an actual reference to his murder or that he was killed, apart from the verse (ayah) which denies that it happened. Furthermore, the Qur'an acquaints us with some events from the life of Jesus (as) which have not yet happened. Thus, his second coming to earth is a prerequisite for these events to happen. There is no doubt that the Qur'an's revelations will surely happen.

Despite this, however, many people assume that Jesus (as) passed away some thousands of years ago and that thus it is unlikely that he will return. This is a misconception arising from lack of knowledge about the Qur'an and the Sunnah. A careful scrutiny of the Qur'an will render an accurate understanding of the verses about Jesus (as) possible.

Our Prophet (saas) also told us that Jesus (as) will be sent back to earth and related that in that time, which is called "the end of time", there may be a period in which the earth will attain unprecedented peace, justice and welfare.

The "end times" refers to the period of time close to the end of the world. According to Islam, in this time, there will be the terrible trials of the Dajjal (Anti-Christ), many earthquakes and the emergence of Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog) after which the ways of the Qur'an will prevail and people will extensively adhere to the values it introduces.

Evidence that Jesus (as) did not die, that he was raised to the presence of Allah and that he will return again

Hey, didn't you know each succeeding revelation supersceeedes an earlier one, the Tanach, the New Testament, the Koran is supersceeded by the LDS scriptures and so on and so forth. The last Scriptures standing wins.

I am joking of course!!!!!!

Each Covenant of Y H V H, builds on the earlier Covenant. Torah is alive and well. Quite in contrast to information that it was nailed to a cross and became null and void.

Just a reminder: Yes, this is a debate forum. However, the debate here is not about whether or not the Qu'ran is the most pure revelation from God, but whether or not Jesus really died.

BTW Jasonparker--fascinating view on Jesus! I've never heard much about Muslims' opinions about Jesus, other than that in Islam he is regarded as a "mere" prophet rather than the son of God. Frubals to you!

It's funny... because the Christian belief that Jesus went to heaven after he died is often as funny to me as my little cousin's belief that when his fish was flushed down the toilet, it was so that it could go hang out with all the other fish in some great fish paradise where it would grow big and fat and happy...

So... back to the subject of the debate...

If Jesus was the son of God (or even, as Muslims believe, "merely" someone who had god on his side), why is it unrealistic to believe that he did not die...? Surely he was powerful enough (or well enough loved by God) not to...

As was foretold in II Nemo 4:8

Back to reality... maybe the Quran was refering to Jesus' other brother Jesus? I mean there were quite a few back then with that name.

The point of his dying was to show his love by being a sacrifice for all of us. His death ENSURES that he is coming back to take us with him and not the converse.

Now there's an idea. I'd never thought of that.

that's purely a j.witness thing.
No, that's purely a Biblical thing. Those scriptures were put in the Bible for a reason - and God was responsible for it. Coincidence? Chance? No. Nothing happens by chance with God.

2 Timothy 3:16: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness".

So JWs don't believe that Jesus died and was raised on the third day?
I was talking about the 1914 statement by HelpMe. :)

I 100% agree with Jesus dying and being being raised up on the third day (Acts 10:40).
