Would you mind explaining this a bit more to me please?Depends on who you ask. If it is just a story, then, as Paul would say, many's faith would be in vain and we are to be pitied most among all people.
I think it does matter to people who value history and society. otherwise, why does anything matter at all?Isn't the story enough?

I don't see why it makes any difference myself
Depends on your point of view, I guess. To live well
I guess my answer goes beyond just living well on earth. I'm sure you know enough about Christianity to know where I'm going with that.
Other than living things, does anything have an intrinsic value or just the value we attribute to it? I don't know.I think it does matter to people who value history and society. otherwise, why does anything matter at all?
I'll have to come back to thisIs the story of Alexander the great enough without the historicity of it?
if historical study of key figures in world religions such as Jesus and Muhammad reveal new surprising data, how would that effect societies and the world? stories are nice, but every once in a while you get the person who wants a bite of a steak which is more than nice and moderate on calories.. some people need a bite of a filet mignon.

Whether or not Jesus existed is pretty much what separates Christians from Jewish folks so I would say it is important.
I don't know Stephenw, there are alot of people hinging their existences to the facts and the hope that he did exist and that he existed exactly like it was depicted in the small amount of knowledge that was written about him.Isn't the story enough?
