Jesus Loves Me

Ugh...I hate seeing pictures of hurt children. So sad and makes me cringe.

But, even though I did not vote for George and the video implies that all the following carnage is his fault.....you can tell from some of the wounds on those poor children that they were injured from car bombs...probably schrapnel from car bombs.

There are two sides to the story.

Some horrible images, I feel for all those children. Of course as is the norm with these videos, and productions, they lack any semblence of context whatsoever. Doesnt diminish these particular children's horror though.

I do disagree strongly with the whole war in Iraq. And not one defense of it that I've heard in the last 3 years has changed my mind.

I know the song throughout the production had the name "Jesus" in it on several occasions, but why is this posted in the religious debates section?

I am with kevmicsmi on this. Iraq was terrible under Saddam and, in my opinion, although things aren't much better now, they will improve over time

Also, a good point is being made that a lot of those injured were probably injured by their own country men, something this propoganda video forgot to tell us.

What of the state of Iraq prior to the "war"?

My heart goes out to anyone hurting...especially children.

I tire, however, of endless Bush bashing when it comes to the "war" in Iraq. I suppose the same individual(s) who created such a picture movie will also claim that life in Iraq was 110% BEAUTIFUL under the rule of Hussein prior to the "war".

So EASY to highlight negatives. So EASY to ignore that freedom ALWAYS comes with a price. So EASY to forget that America is a free nation because blood was shed to protect it.

I get tired of the US being Superman for the world.....there are plenty of horrible dictators out there who make life miserable for their people. Should we fly in and try to rescue everyone? There was no major terroist threat in Iraq then,....there is now however. And I really can't stand the false motivation for starting the war.

I have purposely stayed out of the threads about the Iraq war.....those that voted for Bush will defend him. Those of us that didn't will criticize. It's just the way it goes and not worth debating to me.

They should do a film about all the Kurdish children slaughtered under Saddam, or the state sponsored kidnapping, rape and torture. It is tragic that these children suffer, I hope there is peace for them soon.

I don't think anyone WANTS children, slaughtered, Buttercup.

My whole point was...Bush invasion or not...children were BEING slaughtered.

There's no way of knowing exactly HOW those poor babies were harmed. Some genius exploited their pain and suffering to further their Bush Bashing cause.

And btw...I love you too.

no one.
no one singlehandedly did anything, this is a result of a combination of preexisting ethnic tension, years of oppression under Saddam, a pourly planned military campaign and the infiltaration of terrorists and Baathist loyalists into the insurgent fighting.

to put this at the hands of Bush alone would be irresponsible.
this is one big screw up and EVERYONE failed, and the Iraqi people are suffering.

and for the record i am no Bush supporter.

I certainly didn't vote for Bush, and the reasons cited for going to war had holes big enough to drop cows through, but Saddam was a terrible dictator and needed to go to prevent more suffering by the Iraqi people. Frankly, I'm tired of us playing Superman as well... when are other countries going to stand up as well?
