Jesus Said "It Is Finished"

Did God lie in (2Cor.5:10,11)?

God cannot lie. (Titus 1:2)
I am really looking for answers, not more questions. I thought a person needed to believe and be baptized to be saved. This verse says we are judged by the things we do. You have a way of quoting verses that do not answer the question. Are we judged by what we do is do we only need to believe and be baptized? Did God lie or did all the preachers who preach one thing or the other?

"Led a good and honest life" - You say.

Are you implying she had something to do?
And again, no answer to the question. The question is where is my grandmother. Not if she had something to do. What are YOUR beliefs? Is she is heaven? Is she in purgatory? Is she just dead?

The word of God says when you READ you will UNDERSTAND the will of God. (Eph.3:3,4 ; 5:17)

It's easy to understand (Mark 16:16).

It's hard for some to accept the truth. (Acts 28;24)

If one still needs help Paul's conversion will help.

(Acts 22:16)

1. Arise
2. Be Baptized (Acts 8;5,12,13,26-40 ; 16:30-34)
3. Wash Away Your Sins
4. Calling On The Lord

Anyone who can count to 3 can tell WHEN sins are forgiven.

You want to give me a hypothetical and expect me to run with it.

That's not gonna happen.

I am not the judge of your grandmother. (Jn 5:39) (Acts 17:11)

The bible does not speak of purgatory.

Mt 10:16 ¶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
(KJV)

Strangely, you seem to be worried about everyone except yourself.

If my beliefs are not in line with Gods word, I am in big trouble. (1Peter 4:11)

Fair enough. Let's take the hypothetical out of it. I am sure you have done everything necessary to be saved. So, many years from now, when you die, one minute later will you be in heaven, or limbo, or where? The Bible does not speak of purgatory but one of the articles you posted said people would be in a place of peace while they wait to find out where they will end up. That sounds very much like purgatory. Maybe you have a different name for it but it was in something you mentioned - not me. So can you answer the non-hypothetical question? What happens one minute after we die?

You are right. I am not concerned about myself. I believe God is going to give everyone an equal chance. Including those who never saw a Bible or heard the name Jesus or knew anything about baptism. If my beliefs are wrong I will have an equal chance to learn the truth just like everyone else. No one will be punished because they never heard the truth. Including me.

Sheol and hades are words that refer to the grave, where all men go. There is nothing to indicate that the grave is different for "good" people or "bad" people. All are dead and in their graves. The book of Ecclesiastes tells us in chapter 9, verse 10 "there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, no wisdom in the grave, whither thou ( all mankind ) goest". Verse 5 says that "the dead know not anything". The idea that "good" people enjoy a time of rest and pleasure while the "bad" people suffer torment and worry is not supported by the Bible. All mankind dies and goes to the grave where all thoughts and emotions cease to exist.

The thief on the cross. Jesus told the thief on the cross beside Him that they would be together in paradise. Luke 23:43 Verily I say unto you, today you will be with me in paradise". But there is a small problem, a comma. The original texts are in languages that do not use commas or periods or question marks, etc. Somewhere in the translation process someone added a comma. But did they put it in the right place? Suppose it said "Verily I say unto you today, you will be with me in paradise". Or without any comma, "I tell you today that you will be with me in paradise". I completely believe that Jesus and the thief will be together in paradise. But it will happen when Jesus returns and raises everyone from their graves and sets up a new paradise on earth. It did not happen 2000 years ago. A very big misunderstanding caused by a very little comma which was not there in the original texts.

My grandmother. Since I cannot get anyone to share their ideas or beliefs I will share mine. My grandmother is dead and in her grave not far from where she lived most of her life. She is not aware of the passage of time. She knows nothing about what is going on in the world today. She cannot see us or hear us or pray for us or influence our lives in any way. Her only hope is that Jesus is not a liar. Jesus said He would return and raise the dead from their graves and give them new life. If Jesus lied, then there is no hope for anyone. The dead are dead. The end. But I do not believe Jesus is a liar. I believe He will return. My grandmother will have a new life and a chance to live forever. And all mankind will have the same chance.

Where did Jesus ever say He would return to earth?
Where did Jesus ever say He would raise everyone from their graves?
Where did Jesus ever say that He would set up a new paradise on earth?

NONE of this is non the Bible. It's just not there.

Where did Jesus say this?
Hi Trailblazer. Please, please, please leave some comments and ideas. This has been a conversation between two people for far too long. We need some fresh input. Start with these verses. Hebrews 9:28 Jesus will appear a second time. Zechariah 14:4 His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. Last time I looked, this is on earth. Revelation 1:7 He will come in clouds. Mathew 16:27 He will come in glory. I Cor 15:52 The dead will be raised. Again, your thoughts are badly needed. If anythiing here is not correct, I will welcome your ideas.

I will surely get back to you with my input as soon as I have time to look up those verses, which is just a starting point. :)

Different people look at the same scriptures and interpret them in different ways.
I am so happy to hear a Christian say that. :) I have been saying that for years.

Different interpretations of the same scriptures is why there are so many different sects of Christianity and also why people of other religions such as mine interpret the Bible differently than Christians.

Of course, everyone thinks they are right and will not listen to other ideas. I mean no offense but I have not heard much about the Bahai faith. Would you describe some of your beliefs, please. Especially about the fate of the dead. Do you believe some go directly to heaven or hell? Can the dead see and hear us? Things like that. I would truly like to learn more. I guess I would be considered a Christian because I do believe in Christ and that is usually the definition of "Christian". But my beliefs do not match most of what other Christians believe. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.
