Jesus, the word. Jesus, the way, truth and life

As he supposedly said "I am the way, the truth, and the life...". The reason I said "supposedly" is that I honestly have some strong doubts he ever said such a thing and think it's more likely that these words were put into his mouth by a disciple of his as it doesn't jive well with some of the other things he supposedly said. The word "word" :D probably comes from he being referred to as "the word made flesh".

Do you think word is related to communication?

Maybe, but I do think it's likely more specifically related to God's teachings, thus implying that Jesus is God or is of God.
I agree The Word is what God wants us to know. To know is being done with language. Can anyone prove any other way it can be done?

Do you consider this scripture is "God's teaching", though I forget if you believe in God. I'm sorry.
Matthew 7:13-14

And this one? John 10:9

To your question, no. Also, there's no need for you to apologize.

Take care.

I think you are saying that God is what caused all this, but does not do anything other than to cause it. Your god does not communicate. Is that right?

I don't even go anywhere near that far. Matter of fact, if someone asks me if I'm agnostic, I'll answer yes simply because knowing the answers to such matters is well beyond my pay scale.

Can anyone explain what relationship do these things have? Word, way, truth and life.

~;> the relationship these things have Word, way, truth and life according to the written scripture is
it doesnt have any relationship
unto
a system of biblical interpretation taught by man

as it is written
:read:
John 5:34
But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.

Ephesians 6:6
not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers; but as servants of Messiah, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men;
8 knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.

Acts 17:11
Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Galatians 1:12
For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Yeshua the Messiah.

]Can anyone explain what relationship do these things have? Word, way, truth and life.[/QUOTE]

I put my conclusion/summary at the bottom of this post and the elaboration first:

Way:
Many times in the Old Testament God referred for His people to only follow his ways. Jesus referred to him-self as the way. The writer of the New Testament assigned God's (Yahweh's) attributes (as the only path) in the Old Testament to Jesus.
Psalms 23:26 NRSV
"My child, give me your heart,
and let your eyes observe my ways."
Jeremiah 32:39 NRSV
"I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for all time, for their own good and the good of their children after them."
1 Kings 3:14 NRSV
""If you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your life.”

Word:
In the Old Testament, it is God's Word that created/filled the heavens and earth, men/women, lights, etc. A Yonathan Targumim (Aramaic translation of the OT - written around Jesus' time) translated all the word 'God' as 'Word' (Dabar/Devarim).

Genesis 1:3 NRSV
"Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light."
Genesis 1:6 NRSV
"And God said, “Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”
Genesis 1:14 NRSV
"And God said...."
Genesis 1:20 NRSV
"And God said..."
Genesis 1:24 NRSV
"And God said..."
Genesis 1:26 NRSV
"Then God said..."
Genesis 1:29 NRSV
"God said..."

Truth:
Strong Greek's 225 for the word Truth is aletheia:
225 alḗtheia (from 227 /alēthḗs, "true to fact") – properly, truth(true to fact), reality.
[In ancient Greek culture, 225 (alḗtheia) was synonymous for "reality" as the opposite of illusion, i.e. fact.]

The writer of the Psalm asked God of who may "abide in his tent"
In the same chapter he had the answer:
Psalms 15:1-3 NRSV
"1 O Lord, who may abide in your tent?
Who may dwell on your holy hill?
2 Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
and speak the truth from their heart;

3 who do not slander with their tongue,
and do no evil to their friends,
nor take up a reproach against their neighbors;"

The writer of James used the phrase "the word of truth" to allude to God's Words in Genesis in which men was created from.
James 1:18 NRSV
"In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures."

Life:
We know God himself is the life giver (Genesis 2:7)
God sustained the life of his chosen people in the Wilderness through food. (Exodus 16:15)
The writer of the book of John himself assigned the attribute of Life to Jesus (John 1:4)

Are you seeing the pattern now? The writer of John assigned all these attributes of God (also as spoken by Jesus himself) to Jesus.
Jesus was saying: I am all this that you know about your God in the Old Testament, and today I am here with you, in person.
The relation to all these attributes is God (or Jesus) himself.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. I have seen the pattern. I can't help associating knowing the truth with being on the way. I am supposing that if a person substitutes any lie in place of any truth, can that person still be going the way of God and Christ?
James 2:10 Whoever keeps the whole Law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
Jude 1:24
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy--
Revelation 14:5 And no lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

So..........my question was not for information, it was for thinking.

Matthew 7:23

If I was with you, I might show you a picture, but here is just words. I shall draw a word picture.

Jesus is the way. I associate the way with these. Isaiah 35:8 and Matthew 7:14

And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.
small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

To hold to a lie is to be unclean and foolish. To squeeze through the gate you must leave lying behind. Ephesians 4:29 I have said again and again and again that "bad associations" are not people, they are unclean and foolish speech, but people will hold to their belief that bad associations are people to avoid. Actually, if you were on the way, the Way of Holiness, no bad person would be there with you to possibly spoil your good character (habits).

Imagine yourself on the way. Is anyone there carrying an unclean thing? If you can see someone on the way carrying an unclean thing, YOU are not on the way.
