Jesus told someone to steal

haha...My mom had a Darwin-fish decal on her car and it was stolen last night! I bet her that it would be stolen within a month, I was surprised to see that it only lasted a week! I'm sure that Jesus is happy with his follower for removing that dispicable symbol of demonism from the sight of innocent children.... :biglaugh:

At least her tires weren't slashed and her car keyed. That is what keeps me from putting a darwin fish on my car. Christian vandalism and hate.

Michel, I could only dream of most Christians being as open-minded and accepting of their fellow man as you are. I think your fellow Chrisitans could learn alot from someone with your personality and compassion and find you to be a beacon of morality and a good role model for those of your faith.

Everyone should have a mentor(s) in life and having one of the same faith ain't a bad idea most of the times. If I were a Christian I could see you as one for me and even though I am not I certainly have leanred a lot about religous tolerance from you.

The bigger issue is that as a society we have to fight to have the science of evolution propogated and the notion of non-theism accepted. This year alone, once a month some christian will knock on my door and talk about the mircle of christ.

Once a week some christian will try to convert me. Once a day someone will qoute the bible in stating a poliical opinion. For instance yesterday a Christian who is going to vote to ban gay marriage in Texas said qoute, "God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve."

As a Christian you are the status qou and can have your God on our money, in our pledge, in our congress and in our white house.

For a non-theist to openly say they do not believe in God or even your God is the point for instance concern convesion and mistrust.

Michelle may not know a Christian stole the fish but it is safe to assume that daily many Christians are angered by the advertisement of a science based theory that contradicts christian creationism.

In the reverse situation, I had a passing aquaintance with a pagan, one who was definitly on the 'iffy' side of the religion. He was the 'anti-everything else' type, and described when he was having a bad day and his car was being towed. He was in the front cab, and the truck was driving in slick rain and thunderstorms. He saw that the car in front of the truck had a Fish sticker, and he was feeling particularly bigoted (my words, not his) so he cast an 'instant karma' spell. Sure enough, the car in front crashed, but what he hadn't intended was that it hit the truck that he was in. The car and the people inside were almost totally uninjured, as well as the truck driver, but he managed to get a broken ankle and his car (the one that was being towed) was further damaged.

Sort of offtopic, but there's a car in my hometown covered with stickers like "On Judgement Day You'll Wish Your Car Had Jesus Stickers On It." I saw it every day and it was never vandalised. Of course, my Kerry lawn signs were stolen godknows how many times and any liberal bumberstickers on our car never lasted that long, and I'm talking about things like "God Bless the Whole World- No Exceptions."

*sigh*

And I'm sure Atheists are equally angered when they see a Christian symbol. It swings both ways.

You're also using this experience to judge a whole group consisting of millions of individuals. I enjoyed your response to Michel, however, for it showed you do not think all Christians are like the one who may have stolen the Darwin fish.

I see the opposite really. Maybe in the Bible belt, but in California, I don't see that.

I see the opposite too. Whether it's at school, in entertainment, in the media, eavesdropping on the conversations of strangers, or just talking to those passing by, my beliefs are attacked repeatedly.

We need to exhibit respect for each other and one's property no matter what our philosophical differences are, but I would not assume that the vandal was a Christian. It could have been a person that did not agree with evolutional theory. It doesn't make it right regardless.:)
