JonBenet was on all of the checkout-stand magazines when I left to go to Peru. 2 years later I came back and they all looked the same as when I left. I never understood that.

What makes it even more confusing, she was murdered in 1996. I left for Peru in 1999 (I can't understand why it was still a story then), and was still going strong in 2001 - and nobody knew anything more than they did in 1997. Good to know I didn't miss anything while I was gone :)

Someone confessed to the murder of JonBenet, but it looks to me like he's just a pedophile that wants some time in the limelight.
Yeah, I read that too. Does his motivation for confession really matter? Or his proclaimation that he "loved" her? More scum for the furnaces.

It's a simple formula:
Story = (1) pretty/cute [white] girl x (unsolved muder + suspicious circumstances/parents) + sensationalistic media x profit-based speculation

Why don't you folks look at the facts before passing judgment.

Who would you like to look at which facts, nutshell?

Investigators say that he knows about details of the crime that have never been released to the public. He confessed to second degree murder, saying that he drugged and raped her and that her death was an accident. He doesn't explain though how or why she was found beaten and strangled. Seems resonable to me so far that he should be arrested and put on trial. I just hope that justice is done.

His wife claims that he was in Alabama with her when the murder happened.

Very likely this guy has some mental/emotional issues, and actually believes that he murdered her, but there's still a very good chance that he did not.

= 5 years of printing the same story/pictures every week?

Of course! It was remarkable that during those 5 years no other children were sexually assaulted, kidnapped, or murdered...so without ANY other news along these lines, the press had no choice but to keep running this story.

Well, at least not any white ones.
