Poor little spideee.
The person should at least toss him a fly when he's finished teasing him.

I wonder what it is about that light that attracted the spider. I can't imagine his prey would in any way resemble red light. hmmm interesting

Well, I've seen an Attenborough show where they demonstrated that a spider (of some jumping species, similar to this one) will choose an image of a mosquito that is reddened over one that is not. He showed them two pictures and it attacks the more red one. The explanation is that a reddened mosquito has just fed and is carrying a load of extra calories. From that persepctive a glowing red dot might look like a very fat and full mosquito.

What surprised me most was how responsive and determined the wee guy is.

Me and my brother used to call the zebra jumping spiders "teleporting spiders" as kids. When you touch them, they move so fast it looks like they've disappeared and reappeared nearby :D

That's awesome. I didn't know that spiders did that.
