Just an amusing footnote - Jonah 1.3 in LXX

It looks to me that in Jonah 1.3, he caught the slow boat to Tarshish.

Jonah receives the word from the Lord to go to Nineveh, but instead flees to Tarsus and then catches a boat to Tarshish - a slow one.

I always imagined Jonah fleeing with some haste, but he's imagined as going as slow as possible. :D

That fits my nature of running from God... maybe if you go real slow, she won't notice.:eek:

Jonah should have known that God would catch up with him sooner or later. God has a knack for being in the right places are the right times. ;) No matter how fast or slow the boat may sail.
