My mom's in the ER and I just came home. We got there at about 7:30 but she didn't get a room until a couple hours ago. She's really sick with something. We don't know what it is. She's having really bad abdominal pains, nausea, can't really eat or drink, she throw up yesterday and had a slight fever. They're going to do a CT scan tonight (maybe doing it right now) and maybe some other tests to figure what the problem is. Hopefully we'll know by morning or sometime tomorrow.

Please keep in your prayers/send good thoughts her way.

Hlin & Eir cross their spears as they stand guard for the frail
Thor's hammer raised high unto the skies and bring peace from the gale
Friend of Man he gives his hand to carry the weak & pale
To the Orchard they travel fighting her battle
Combat for wellness & strength
Iounn's apples they seek
To give to the meek
And these words they speak;
Your time is not now
Your journey continues,
Of thyself and those near to you
Heimdall's horn has yet to be blown
Nor has Odin left his throne
Death finds all but for you she does not search
For Valkyries have yet to leave their perch.

(another terrible poem, but I hope it helps some)

My mom called me. She got the results of the CT scan. There's a mass above her pancreas. :( They've moved her out of the ER to her own room. They're going to do more tests this afternoon and they're going to do a biopsy on Monday.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Best of care. A mass can mean anything. Don't over worry and stay direct with the feet on the ground. The mind can be your worst enemy at times like this.

I hope it all works out for the best. My thoughts are with you.

My own mother is currently recovering well after a mammectony, so it's very common for these things to be dealt with in a pretty straightforward manner.

Gosh, how did I fail to see this thread before?

I hope things go well with your mother, Frank.
