Yeah, how many autopsies and reboots can they do before they realize it's their Archie Bunker mentality that's turning most Americans off...!?!....

I liked Archie Bunker, though.

I mean, I liked him in the way that I liked Oscar the Grouch, but still. I find the mentality highly entertaining. :D

It's painfully obvious to me that the current republican party is in real trouble and searching for absolutely anything they can find to change their direction of attack. They don't want the nutty remarks from people elected that shouldn't be there in the first place. But they also know they need those votes. So what do they do?
Major shakeups. I see it with Rush when I listen, I can tell what he's saying is in response to his 'higher ups' questioning his words and approach and he's being put in the corner. Once Rush caves, his business is over. Their base is gone. The whole attitude with the right wing media will shift.
If the republican party is trying to gain the interest of moderates, they need to start acting like adults.

Me too. I grew up watching that fool and laughed right along with the audience. Now that was art imitating life...but when the Archie Bunker mentality rears it's ugly head in politics that's when "skit" gets real. The Bunker mentality has the ability to affect our lives and usually not in a good way (i.e. anti-abortion, anti-LGBT, blocking the vote, rigging the election system, anti-immigrants..) and the hits just keep on coming...that's when it ain't funny no more......

Just saw on CNN that the RNC went ahead and voted to ban NBC and CNN from their debates based on proposed biographies to be aired by those networks on Hillary Clinton.

What do you think of this action?

Personally, I can see it coming back to bite them (RNC) in the ***.

Hilarious. The more the RNC thinks like Iran, the more it acts like Iran.

The Republicans are trying to get out of the grave trouble they're in by quashing representative democracy. Nice one!

Actually its almost smart. Basically the only way to watch the debates will be through fox news. It means they get the chance to warp the debates as they see fit to support a conservative point of view. They don't want a dirty liberal station calling them on their ********.

Is there a liberal voice at the RNC? I mean really, the RNC is all conservative -- arguments about whatever stupid crap they happen to be talking about.

For me, either it's just something stupid that some idiot Republican thought would be a good idea --

Or it's something more diabolical - they did their research and for some reason they think that this will help their cause.

How can this possibly help them? They get to censor the news. Republican candidates -- even superstars -- have the tendency of saying really stupid things and the "liberal" media and comedians have a field day with it.

So in an attempt to shield their candidates from the press before they even go outside of the fold (appear in public as ready as they can be) -- they do something perversely stupid by excluding media from an important event.

But guess what! The plan will backfire because FOX can't keep all the stupid stuff out because they aren't the brightest crayons in the box ... plus the candidates' stupidity will become rarer and therefore more valuable and more public when they appear on YouTube.

Idiots.

Yes. They are all conservatives. But they don't want a liberal or any other conflicting view being placed by a station during the debates. Its more about calling people on their crap or defending points they attack. With fox you get this saftey net of support for conservatives.

Also democrats probably aren't going to watch the republican primary debates. Republicans will. The overwhelming chance is that a republican will be watching it on fox news anyway. Where they hope to make progress is by having the independents watch fox news to get an extra helping of conservative brainwashing while they watch the debates. If someone who was on the fence or a true independent were to watch the debate with play by play from fox their minds will probably be different than if they watched it with play by play from MSNBC.

The man shot a lawyer in the face, for God's sake!
Plus, he's was pro-gay marriage before Obama.
Have some respect.

Are you miffed cuz the lawyer survived?

I am mad a Cheny for many reasons, the least of which is that he is the mastermind behind modern day American fascism -- and he applied it more effectively than anyone else in the world. He should be in prison for war crimes and despised by every American.

So he has the blood of a million people on his hands, and most of them are civilian.

But personally, what gets me is what Cheny did to Colin Powell, who was ordered to basically fall on his sword in front of the UN Security Council, lying to the world about WMDs in Iraq. I had great respect for Powell, and to make an honorable man participate in a conspiracy to wage an illegal war is despicable. Powell was loyal to his President so he did it, and to his everlasting credit he has apologized.

This is it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt5RZ6ukbNc

Breaks my heart every time.

I faulted Cheney for using bird shot when he should've used buck shot or a slug on attorneys. (Perhaps he confused foul with fowl, eh?) But modern day fascism began long before Cheney. My memory goes back to Nixon & Johnson...lots'o death in an undeclared war, political evil doing, & social faux pas. You young whippersnappers just never appreciate how well developed our corruption was before your time. Although....I must say that Obama is quite advanced in governmental opacity, police militarization & electronic privacy invasion, the latter being the most modern flavor of fascism. Move over, Cheney! There's a new dictator in town.

Not to mention he once wanted to invade New York with soldiers. Bush was smart enough to say, "Naw".

The only reason the right wants to moderate their own debates is to avoid tough questions. This way they can shape the debate in the most simple worded and slow talk possible.

What is bothering me is where are those in the Democrat party that might object to NBC, and CNN annotating Clinton as the Democrats choice for President. The last time I checked I thought it was the primary's that determined who would be the choice. There are those that say that these miseries are basically just a business decision to bring in money, capitalism. It is well documented that NBC and to a lesser extent CNN has a decidedly liberal agenda. There are a few at NBC that think this is a bad idea for NBC, Chuck Todd being the most outspoken. If you were a Democrat and thought about running for President in 2016, VP Biden for one, this series is basically free advertising for Hillary.

It's a documentary on her life. I don't see it as NBC or CNN or Fox annotating Clinton as the democratic choice for president. Of course that's what the right will say (preibus).
All I see is that people are shaking in their boots at the notion she will be running and will try to halt ANYTHING talking about her. Regardless if a movie, documentary, etc. It's not like they're making a Hollywood moving about Obama prior to the 2012 election painting the world how it would look in 2016. Remember that sham of a movie that was filled with nonstop lies?
Esmith, I'd recommend you to stop watching right wing media and start living in the real world. They intentionally keep information from you on purpose.
