Just Joined - Christian with Paleontology Background

Greetings everyone,

I am excited to be on Religious Forums and what has motivated me to participate is the evolution/creation controversy. I have been researching issues on the controversy for over 30 years. My graduate research is in paleontology and fossil stratigraphy, but my studies have gone into many other areas. I married into a beautiful fundamentalist Christian family years ago. Once this community of believers found out who I was, I was blessed with literally hundreds of discussions/debates. A number of these encounters were quite intriguing.

I hope you will enjoy my contribution to this forum. My plan is to review past discussions before getting too actively involved.

All the best

So, what side are you fighting on, that of reason or that of silly superstitious, mindless kowtowing to myth?

Gee, did that sound a bit biased? :D

In any case, welcome aboard.

Hi Skwim,

I am a product of the Enlightenment with a Thomistic flavor, in other words, a theistic evolutionist.

If you ever step out of the evolution vs creation boards I'll chat you up on Thomism and metaphysics :)

Wecome to the forum and I hope to debate you some time. What is your take on the creation debate?

Hi Dan4reason,

It will probably be difficult for us to debate this issue, because my guess it we are very similar when it comes to the reality of evolution.

You are probably right. I do like that someone with a background in paleontology will be debating this issue while having a Christian perspective. Maybe we will have the oppurtunity of debating other issues.
