I don't care what people think of it, I believe material forms, objects including rocks, trees, stars, plants, smokes, colours, gemstones, things "touched by others", scarfs, on and on, can be influencial and "light shifters".

So that is why I like jyotish scientists (Indian astrologers) and those who take a different view of "swimming in the world". Not that I let these things take over my life, in fact there isn't that much time in a week to spare such fun, but yes I "dabble" in it.

Now I know in Hinduism, and other traditions, the entire culture, meaning and expression of a name has it's place in the order of things. One more great reason to love life, in my opinion.

So I do take the "name" in the course of being a way to "shift" things if you will. Today I ran into a group that calls itself Kabalists who practice something regarding name analysis, never heard of them before. They get around to charging a fee, just as would any jyotish or tarot reader. And I don't have a problem with fees, they deserve to get paid for their intriguing services (I include witch doctors into deserving fee structures as well).

But the question is, have others utilized the Kabalist Name Readers? I think it remotely aligns with some traditional ways, it may have even come from India by way of the gypsies through Romania.

My only problem is, which name to be analyzed (typically first and last name both are used)? I have 3 names, and several "pet names" as well including rather monsterous ones. If names can project and he analyzed, then what if you have many names as me and pet names, how does that mix? I don't put pet names as the lesser of the other names either, if someone says for example "hey (blank) Slayer, look!", then I am that one and look.

Anyway, any thoughts?

Yes, I am a Primitive Man.

praNAm shivafan,
I'm not completely sure, but shouldn't this go in the Judaism DIR since it's related to kabbalah?

Hello JS,

They didn't say they were Jewish, but I think the word might be.

They seemed new age to me, so I put it here. Sort of fits in with the new age genre, and I figure here there might be some members who have tried name analysis already and would be curious to hear their input. The Kabalists are not Hindu, but they do not talk anything about Judaic thought or religion, they might be influenced by many things globally.

What do you think, JS? Do you think "name analysis" (like palm reading or such) has some ability to project change?

Really, I always though kabbalah was Jewish:
