Kamala Fights for Us!

I keep seeing Harris' campaign ads with people talking about how Trump fights for rich people and Kamala fights for us.

Team Trump plays an out of context video with Kamala talking about bread being up 50% and beef being up almost 50%.

Is being president about fighting? Fighting what? None of these ads address what the 'fight' is.

My disappointment in the candidates and their campaigns may lead me to write in Floyd Mayweather, since he has more fighting experience than both frontrunners.

How about you jack***es stop finger-pointing and talk about working together to fix what's broken? Until you do, neither one of you have my vote.

The problem with slogans is they are restricted to too few words -- kinda hard to get a lot of information and nuance into 3 and 4 word sentences. Try listening to her speak -- I have listened to the majority of her rallies and interviews, and she is very different when talking about what the needs are, and what she thinks can be done about them.

It actually seems to me that's a big problem these days of sitcoms (all problems solved in 30 minutes less commercial time) -- nobody wants to spend any time on anything. Tell me all about yourself in 5 words isn't going to be really informative.

She hasn't given me no reason to.

I disagree. Campaign ads have changed in my lifetime from talking about one's own platform to trashing the other candidate. Watching these two has become marginally worse than class president campaigns. I've never been less confident in candidates' availability to do the job. The presidency has morphed into a popularity contest.

As you noted Harris has been the one trying to gin up this talking point and meme. What is funny is that it is so phony. Harris comes from an affluent family. Her father was a tenured professor, who based his own writings on Karl Marx. Kamala grew up in an affluent neighborhood in Montreal and went to an Ivy league university.

She has often made the claim that she worked at McDonalds. But the only evidence provided has been her own claim, despite many independent investigators trying to find evidence. For example snoops.com looked into the claim and found it "Unproven" stating, "Harris has made this claim repeatedly over the years, and multiple reputable news outlets have reported on the story. But, aside from Harris' testimony itself, there is no evidence (such as a photo, employment record or confirmation from a friend or family member) to independently verify the claim." Harris Claims She Had a Job at McDonald's While at College. Here's What We Found

Harris has credibility issues.

Since you probably don't have any say in deciding who we get to vote for, nor is your vote one of the extra special votes that will actually matter, use your vote to show how you really feel. Vote for your favorite corporate logo, since all of this campaigning is just a money-making business if your votes don't actually matter.

That kind of cynicism won't help keep the love of democracy alive in the U.S. And consider, I've just seen this from Reuters:

Republicans prepare to legally nullify US election results - Reuters

Story by Bohdan Babaiev
The Republican Party is working on a legal challenge to the results of the presidential elections in the United States. This assessment comes from members of the campaign team for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, according to Reuters.
It is noted that Republican representatives typically file motions in court for various restrictions on voting access, which they claim are necessary to prevent fraud. Meanwhile, Democrats are asking courts to ensure voting accessibility.
In Arizona, an advocacy group founded by Donald Trump advisor Stephen Miller is promoting a bold legal theory: judges may annul election results due to failures or irregularities by local officials.
The lawsuit by the conservative advocacy group America First Legal Foundation argues that courts should have the authority to nullify election results and schedule new voting rounds in two Arizona counties. These counties are where Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, leads Trump in polls by a narrow margin.
In Michigan, Republicans have filed a lawsuit to prevent state agencies from expanding voter registration access, limiting the use of mobile voting sites such as vans, and implementing stricter rules for verifying mail-in ballots.
In Nevada, Trump allies are attempting to purge voter rolls of individuals who allegedly do not have the right to vote, as well as foreign nationals, although the deadline for systematically checking voter rolls before the elections has already passed.

There's more, but it's much of the same...If Americans want a democracy, they'd better get ready to preserve it from those who would take it away from them..

It seems to me that you are the buyer. So caveat emptor. You would buy a pig in a poke, and it's always wise to at least take a closer look before you buy a used car.

Once again, candidates (they're the ones trying to sell you their wares) will do whatever their buyers will fall for. If American voters were to reject the kind of negativity that is poisoning the airwaves right now, I can guarantee you Trump would be out on his ear long ago. Even Republicans are begninning to notice just how vile his attacks on Harris are, like "mentally impaired." This is -- or ought to be -- beyond the pale. But who's going to make them stop, if not you and the rest decent Americans?

Do a little search on how many times Trump has used the word bipartisan versus Harris and another where you calculate how often either candidate is denigrating American citizens.
Then get back to us and the search can not be just on Fox.

Thank you for your blindly partisan response.

Now go back and read the OP, answer the questions, then come back to us with something remotely on topic.

I'm not going to run out and buy a Ford because Ford Motor Company runs and ad saying, "Chevys suck and they're dangerous." And I certainly won't buy a Chevy because they say, "Ford assembles cars in Mexico to save money." I'll go out and see what Toyota and Nissan have to offer.

Once again, candidates (they're the ones trying to sell you their wares) will do whatever their buyers will fall for. I can't help but think that whoever winds up in office will feel their negative ad campaign helped them, regardless of what I and the rest of the decent Americans think.

The only time any presidential candidates show up here is for "private fundraisers" and snarl up the traffic.

I understand that completely. The problem in this particular case is that, due to the nature of the American System, either the Ford or the Chevy will get sold -- Toyota and Nissan don't have a chance. So you might wind up with no car at all.

Look, this site contains the transcripts of just about everything Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have been saying. Just take a look at the most recent by Harris, in an interview on MSNBC. Yes, she has some things to say about Trump -- but only what can be shown to be demonstrably true. But she has a great deal more to say about her plans for the economy and the nation. You may not agree with all of those plans, and that's fair, but at least you'll find she's laying them out and giving her reasons.

Then try any transcript by Trump -- and compare.
I can't help but think that whoever winds up in office will feel their negative ad campaign helped them, regardless of what I and the rest of the decent Americans think.
And if that's how they get in, you may well be correct. But I say once again, Sellers are giving their buyer's what they seem to want. If the buyers ignore or reject it, they'll try another sales tactic. That's how the market works. As always, we can blame who we want, but we're the emptores, so the caveat is on us.

How do you work with a wanna be dictator who is a threat to our democracy, has tried to overthrow an election already and has only become more emboldened in his garbage and lies (like claiming he'd win California if the vote counting were honest).
How does one work with a party committed to controlling the medical decisions of others?
How do you work with politicians who give not one damn about the threats and dangers Americans face, such as gun violence, global warming and dangerous food additives?
Why work with a party destroying labor laws, ending work breaks and who views sending children back to work as a solution to the labor shortage?
Why work with a party of xenophobic, racist, misogynist haters who are fueling lies that has brought devastation and fead to a city where bomb and death threats are now a regular thing in their local news?

I'm sorry apparently we don't speak the same language, In my English working on bipartisan solutions in the "fight" for all of us who live here is likely more productive than denigrating taxpaying people over debunked rumors because they are different in the "fight" for our "purity of blood"

I'd suggest a mirror, but they don't work for everybody.

It's not a negative campaign. It speaks to the reality of the situation that there is no working with a man who said he wants to be a dictator, a man who has worked to attack the integrity of our elections and democracies. There is no compromise with people who want to control our healthcare decisions. There is no working with but working to marginalize anti-semetic nuts like Marjorie Taylor. A "black Nazi"? We don't work with ****ing Nazis.

I'd suggest Google Translate, but GIGO.
