Katy Perry Banned From Sesame Street

You'd think that parents would have more to do than complain about something as benign as this, but I guess giving the impression you're taking care of your kids more often than not trumps actually taking care of your kids.

On Monday, a clip from the planned Nov. 3 episode of "Sesame Street" featuring Katy Perry singing a very vanilla version of her song "Hot N' Cold" went viral and people went berserk.

It seems that Katy's cans were way too prominent for some parents. "My kid wants milk now" was one's complaint. And today "Sesame Street" decided that the heat was turned up too high on Katy's performance.

"In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of 'Sesame Street,' which is aimed at preschoolers," Sesame Workshop said in a statement.

Personally, I don't get what the big deal is. Disney Princesses wear less (hello, Ariel just wore seashell pasties) and the demo "Sesame" targets could still conceivably be breast feeding.

You know Katy was all, "I left my whipped cream can cannons at home for this?"

What do you think? Should the video have been removed?

God forbid kids realize how much better looking their first source of sustenance could have been. Boy, insecure women, there's no telling what kind of retaliation their minds will puke out.

Oh boy. Parents are now afraid that children may actually see people and figure that their breasts may be beautiful under the cloth?

They must lead very blessed lives indeed if such an event even registers as a possible problem. I'm willing to believe that this is artificial controversy to make people speak of Sesame Street (or of Katy) for a while.

Done here.
I feel sorry for the children being brought up by these idiots.

And I'd be willing to bet those children don't watch Sesame Street anyway.

When I was I kid I would watch shows like Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, and that kind of stuff with violence and sexual undertones. Now kids watch all that Disney crap that goes out of of it's way to be as tame, uncool, and unfunny as possible.

What happened to all of the awesome shows?

I watched this video and thought it was tame. I don't see where the kid even got milk from that video.

From what I remember of Sesame Street, they talked a lot about numbers and letters and counting, but also nutrition. About as far as I saw that show go when it came to sex was "I am a boy and you're a girl."

That's so cute that you believed that. No kid said that. I'd be surprised to learn that any father wrote that. Most likely some young ******** with time on his hands thought he'd pretend to be an indignant father for the lulz. Sad that Sesame Street responds to such ********.

I don't believe any kid said that. I don't believe any preschooler even saw the video as it has not even aired on TV yet. The only place it has been seen is on youtube. My point was, where would any kid get the idea that of milk at all from that one video.

It is a long shot guess, but is it possible that someone got afraid that the Elmo clip might encourage children to see the other clips for the same music?

One of them, which I believe is somehow the "default" one, has a marriage montage that includes what seems to be a transexual dame-of-company. Maybe it scared someone.

The only way I can see a preschooler watching the original video is if the parent went and searched for it while the child was still at the computer.
