Keep Women Out of Medicine, Engineering, and Law

Probably due to the erosion of the nuclear family and the tragic rise of latchkey children.

It's not that woman can't do the job, but those women that put careers above family as a priority.

At least until the children grow up they need at least one parent to properly rear and direct them ideally.

It's been a basis for stability in the past that now has consequences as both parents largely need to work in today's society leaving kids to essentially fend for themselves.
Past societies would be shocked at how miserable small the nuclear family is. The rise of the nuclear family separated us from many of our traditional support systems. Traditionally we had those such as aunts and uncles and first cousins and grandparents in much closer proximity. But now that is limited and other communal resources for child rearing have been greatly diminished.

Indeed, the modern nuclear family is largely a product of the 2nd Industrial Revolution, and even here specifically the well-to-do middle class of these industrial societies. Even in the 19th century, when the ideological model of the family started to rise to prominence, a classic bourgeois household often consisted of at least 2-3 servants, in addition to any still unmarried relatives.

Of course, conservativism has never been about preserving factual historical pasts in the present, but about projecting a particular idealized, highly ideological model of society back into the historical past regardless of its historicity or context.

No, this is not the Taliban or daesh or from a Muslim but from a right winger.

Article: Boise State Professor: Keep Women Out of Medicine, Engineering, and Law

A political-science professor is under fire after declaring that “independent women” are a threat to society and should stick to “feminine goals.”
...
Boise State University professor Scott Yenor, who previously served on far-right Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin’s task force investigating right-wing claims of “indoctrination” in schools, made the bizarre declaration during the National Conservatism Conference in Orlando in late October, the Idaho Statesman reports.
...
Yenor’s comments at the Oct. 31 event went well beyond sexist stereotypes, with the professor suggesting a nation could only be “great” if men and women were kept apart in their respective spheres.

“Young men must be respectable and responsible to inspire young women to be secure with feminine goals of homemaking and having children,” he told the crowd. “Every effort must be made not to recruit women into engineering, but rather to recruit and demand more of men who become engineers. Ditto for med school, and the law, and every trade,” he said.
Wait, I thought American colleges were the epicentres of cancel culture, any freedom of speech was ruthlessly suppressed, and any voices that were not feminist-socialist were harshly persecuted?

Are you telling me that all these public voices wringing their hands over "cancel culture" and "freedom of speech" were highly exaggerating, or potentially even engaging in hyperbolic rhetoric for the sake of framing the debate in their favor?

I'm so surprised ... that he didn't have 'political science' listed as another forbidden faculty.
I don't know about the US, but around here conservatives who can't hack it in Law School or STEM tend to flock to PoliSci as a less demanding alternative (although there's also Agriculture as an option for those with more rural backgrounds, too)

Working class parents have always had to work in order to pay the bills, this is not a recent phenomenon.

What's common since the 1970s-1980s is that working two-parents households have become widespread in the middle/upper middle class because in earlier times, white collar careers (or, really, careers) were largely off limits for women.
