Kenneth Copeland 'curing' people of Coronavirus through their television screen..

If he was selling sugar pills and claiming they were a cure, that would be unquestionably illegal. I don't see why this is any different. No case is ever going to brought against any Christian preacher for this though. Too many people in the US system rely on voters to keep their jobs for that to happen.
That's the whole thing.

Just replace sugar with religious and you have the exact same thing going on.

Still you have to hold people like this accountable for intentionally misleading people to the point where something is just going to have to be done under the circumstances. Especially if he encourages people to go out afterwards
The size of his head and the shiny stuff on his fingers scares me.
That's because he's from Texas.

Televangelism has always been a shady and scummy area of religion and in this case crosses the line whereas a person walks around thinking they're cured....

Televangelist Kenneth Copeland is “curing” people of coronavirus through the television

Would it be practical to see a law pass that prevents religious-based scumbags like Kenneth Copeland to impersonate doctors and medical providers in terms of giving a diagnosis and offering cures?
Especially so during serious situations like this.

He is a heretic and con artist...

Some people might be embarrassed, then, by the fact their orange idol spends so much time and energy sucking up to televangelists. Some people might even go a step further, and start wondering if that suggests that maybe their orange idol isn't actually as wonderful as they'd previously thought...

You are a one-trick pony. Do you actually talk about anything but Trump?

it's at times like this sometimes I wish things would tank and all money will become completely worthless.

It would only be for the sole reason for an opportunity to watch his agony at my unadulterated and unbridled amusement.

Probably not practical (religious freedom and all that) but certainly reasonable. Guys like him are literally killing people.

Well that is certainly true. But then again, people continue following this man, I really don't have much to say about it other than good luck. ;0)

This nut has the 9am time slot on a major TV network up here. A left-leaning one to boot.

I remember several decades ago when I was with the Word of Faith movement you would almost swear Kenneth Copeland for all intents and purposes, was another God with these people.

He tells the superstitious what they want to hear. It is not a giant leap when one believes in fairy tales already.

I think a lot of it has to do with the personality cult that oftentimes thrives among charismatic people.

Although I'm still leery, as I can't find any details how he's going to profit off of this*, it seems at least Benny Hinn has toned-down enough in comparison.

Then Jim Baker comes to mind....

They never give it a rest, do they?

*I'm quite sure of the pitch for offerings and tithing will be promptly made.

More views means a greater audience thus more potential revenue.

No as that is their meal ticket. Telling people babble for a living.

I don't understand why this piece of garbage isn't in prison. Fraud and theft are illegal, aren't they?

He believes in what he is doing. If you don't approve, then just change the channel.

No, he doesn't. I would be surprised if he even believes in God. If he did, he wouldn't be doing what he is doing. Surely you don't think that all manner of televised fraud should be protected.

It certainly is illegal. Unfortunately some forms of crime are made legal under the banner of religion allowing this man to continue the scam.
