Oh, Dialup... For so many years, it was my lullaby. I also remember video games that were on whatever was before the floppy disc - the big floppy discs. Incidentally, it's a game that has literally been lost to time; I can't even find information on Wikipedia about it.

I've seen a few videos where they show little kids various items from the past - like typewriters, dial telephones, etc. The kids are trying to figure these things out, and they're not quite sure how they work.

Another thing that baffles some of the youngsters today is one scene from Fast Times At Ridgemont High where some kids are being handed some papers which were freshly printed from a "ditto" machine. They all pick up the papers and take a good whiff of the chemicals used in the process, which is something kids would do back in those days. Now, with printers and copiers being used, I don't think schools have those old machines anymore.

Kids today don't know what slow internet is.
"Oh, you think the Internet is your ally, but you merely adopted the latency. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see a JPG breast until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!" -Bane, probably

I remember once my step father was downloading this film called 'Pitch Black' on dial-up, so we all had no internet for like days. Then when it finally downloaded it was just two hours of a pitch black screen :tearsofjoy:
