What exaclty is the purpose of this? I did it throughout grades 5-9. What does it resemble? How is it related to Xmas.? We can even do it here at RF.

I'm sorry, I don't know what Kris Kringle is. Is that like having Santa Claus visit? Or is it a gifting ceremony? (Sorry, I honestly don't know.)

Kris Kringle is something we do in Aus. You all put names in a hat, and you pick one out at random. You then send that person notes, the other trying to guess who it is. After it has finished, you sapproach that person and give them a small gift, revealing who you were. It is always done before Xmas at work or school.

We never sent notes when we did Kris Kringle... Some people with large families do it - saves money buying everyone presents. You just buy for one person (or a couple people), and it's totally random - just whoever's name you draw out of the hat.

We in the US call that form of gift giving "Secret Santa".... often done in the workplace etc...

Ahhh, the equivelent of Secret Santa! I understand now!

I love the idea of having one for RF! How could we do it, though? The anonymity factor wouldn't be there, but we could post nice things about one another and maybe do a "what we would give the other person if we could" pretend gift-exchanging ceremony!

That's a great idea, Feathers!

I have about 24 cousins on my mom's side of the family. We do a Secreat Santa every year and it works out great!

Well there is a handy piece of info , as I have been made a honorary Ozzie on another forum . :) They are Mexicans { well , from N.S.W. } . What part of Lucky Country are you two from ?

{ yea , I know that there is another term for people from N.S.W. , but I ain't calling them a bug ... they would kick my butt ;) }

BTW , I'm really off topic , aren't I ? :)
