I love Zombies!!! They are the creepiest of the movie monsters. :woohoo:
Romero is naturally a "god" of the Zombie movie, so it will no doubt be good.:jam:

Though Romero is the man when it comes to Zombie movies, I think he is naturally a "god" when it comes to all horror movies, with my favorite Romero movie of all time being a vampire movie.

The gentleman who was supposed to bring Shaun Of the Dead (and the soda) to the Cult Film Festival fell ill with a stomach virus this weekend so my friend (who lent me DAWN OF THE DEAD remake) brought over some other DVDs and the other party goers eventually voted on DODGEBALL as the feature presentation substitute. I wasn't impressed.

I like Romero's attention to the zombies and I also appreciate the fact that he has a firm grasp on the situations of the survivors. He really has an admirable understanding about the circumstances and the evolution of all three films is believable as well as entertaining.

He started working on it either last year or the year before, but couldn't get enough funding to continue it until just recently. I can't wait for it to come out.

See this is the part that I do not understand. Hollywood producers will sink money into a remake but they will not produce the money for a director (who has proven himself many times over) to finish his vision and bring us a fresh version to a great zombie trilogy.

Lol Carrdero. I caught this when you originally posted it in your remake thread. Only when I finished replying to it there did I noticed that you had edited the post.

Sorry about the confusion. It was meant for this thread but I noticed that I hadn't changed the channel.

Not a problem.

I think this has to do in part with the fact that althought Romero's movies are loved and revered by many, they were never the hollywood blockbuster type of movie and the producers probably didn't want to fuel their money into a flick that wouldn't be made the way new horror movies are made these days. There's no doubt in the fact that Romero probably would refuse to make a movie like that.

Has anyone seen:
Martin
Season Of The Witch
Monkey Shines
The Crazies
Knightriders
Day Of the Dead
The Dark Half
The Bruiser

Martin is my very favorite Romero movie. I mentioned earlier in either this thread or the other one you posted, but didn't mention it by name, merely saying my favorite Romero film was about a vampire, not a zombie.

I've seen Season of the Witch, Monkey Shines, The Crazies, Day of the Dead and the Dark Half. I own all of those except for Season of the Witch, but I haven't seen Knightriders or The Bruiser.

Martin is a pretty disturbing film and has to be my all time vampire movie because of it being so "unorthodox". I put Bruiser on my Netflix que. Knightriders is a great movie combining the ethics of a Renaissance festival and a motorcycle rodeo. It is about as anti-horror as Romero has gotten but its production values are great and it shows that Romero cannot be type-casted as just a horror director. It plays out like a film that he always wanted to make. I hope that it gets released as a DVD because my video copy is wearing thin.

I'll be sure to check it out as soon as it's released on DVD, it sounds really good. Other than Martin's incredibly beautiful but incredibly disturbing cinematography, I also love the fact that he isn't really a hollywood-esque "vampire", but more of someone who practices vampirism. That's rarely done in films. Just like the main reason why I love the vampire movie Near Dark is because they never actually come right out and say that they are vampires.
