Laptop problems

Maybe can use some temp monitoring software to see if it's heating issue, or ask computer technician to do a check for any problem or maintenace to clean the dust which gather inside the laptop. Using a laptop cooler can also help lower the temp.
That is probably the best starting point, and having the program set to record the temperatures. If the laptop crashes and the temp was too high, then it's just a matter of finding out if the vents are clogged (which will need air duster), or if the fan or other cooling units have went out, or perhaps it may just need new thermal paste and possibly heat treatment.
But, hopefully, it's just some dust build up, and if it's not that she can either do the repairs herself or knows someone who will cut her a deal because it's not cheap to take them to a shop for repair.
