Which state is that?
New York.
Both Republican and Democrat parties determined the primary would not be worth the cost. As a poll worker who would have been there for the whole thing. There was a primary earlier in the spring for other offices.

"Good Afternoon,

We've been informed by the New York State Board of Elections that there won't be a Primary Election on June 25th. If you had signed up to work as a poll worker during the Primary Election, your help won't be needed. We genuinely appreciate your interest in serving as a poll worker.

The nest election is the General Election on November 5th. I may have asked you before about your availability to work on November 5th. Regardless of whether you have previously informed us, please reply to this email and confirm your availability to work on November 5th. We eagerly await your response.

Still had the e-mail even.

No, that is not correct. Benjamin Harrison, the Republican candidate won the Presidency in 1888 despite the fact that Democratic candidate Grover Cleveland won the popular vote that year.

So again, the question was:

When was the last time a Democratic President was elected by winning the electoral college despite losing the popular vote?

Yes there was a primary for other offices in April as I said, this would have been specifically for the presidential election. The April date would have stepped on too many toes re early primaries or something but NY was set for a june 25 and by then it would have been basically redundant.

Anyhow this whole nonsense about Harris' elevation is obviously just a weird complaint based on ignorance of the process and its history.

So these New York April 2, 2024 presidential primaries are not real?

Beef bacon (or lamb bacon if I could find it).

I made an amazing spaghetti carbonara with this.

Meanwhile back to voting.

No, personal e-mail from the Republican commissioner for elections who is responsible for providing Republican poll workers at the polls telling me that I wouldn't have to work that day as there would not be a primary.

I'm sure it was announced in the news somewhere, but as a non-event it didn't make the front page.

Did Mr. Elias consult with President Maduro about this? He likes unquestioned elections too.

They are forcing all the non-MAGAs out of the GOP.
I have for a long time that moderate republicans should have taken over the GOP and forced MAGAs to become their own party. Now it’s all lost. What will happen when Trump dies? It’s all about the cult factor.

Ok, then tell me why we should even have the primaries in the future if the party knows best.
The parties have wide legal latitude in selecting
their candidates. If the winner drops out, it's
entirely proper & legal to replace them without
holding new primary elections.
It must really grind Maga gears to see Biden
replaced with a strong candidate. They're using
the silliest arguments that no on but Biden can
run on their ticket.
