Leading COVID-19 Expert From South Korea

Finally some coherent info about masks and how you get infected
More consistent info IMO than WHO has been given

:Dnot for those who love to follow WHO or Trump blindly:D

:DOh, and this is not debatable:D

04m43s: He gives some statistics from South Korea
06m26s: He talks about asymptomatic being a problem to fully understand the impact
06m43s: He explains why over 60 you are in more trouble, and what kind of trouble you get
08m15s: It takes 15 days to develop antibodies ... but with Corona they have seen that people get it again after 5-7 days
08m45s: He explains the 3 ways to get Corona infection ... size of virus ... how long virus can survive on different surfaces (and why)
11m10s: Normally you don't get it by breathing, unless there are certain circumstances
11m40s: He talks about a big group in a church in South Korea who got infected (thousands)
13m35s: He talks about who should be tested (indication also losing sense of taste/smell etc)
14m33s: Interviewer asks: no symptoms = no test. Oh no problem, but you must pay yourself=140USD (refund if positive or doctor likes your...)
15m00s: Starts talking about masks
18m50s: South Korea does 15000 tests per day (338000 tests so far = mar23 2020)
22m00s: He talks about Corona problem under control, now they need control visitors

23m10s: How long it takes to get test results
23m44s: He explains about the app they use, to track symptoms...and contact you when you cheat
25m25s: Prime Minister, on March 20 2020, made special announcements on social distancing
26m00s: 20y old don't listen well ... 30% of confirmed cases are in this group
27m27s: How long will Corona last ... and talking about how long it takes to get a vaccin or drug repurposing
33m00s: He talks about a quick way, called "convalescent plasma" for critical patients
34m45s: Doctors advice for young people (10-30-40)...something like: Corona might not kill you, but be aware, that, because of you "not following these 3": a)mask + b)handwash + c)SocialDistancing, you might be the cause that others die, because you "handed" them the Corona Virus

36m28s:
This is Science ... you need to be humble ... the moment we become arrogant we'll lose
Perhaps Europe and USA were a bit overconfident, and thought masks would not help
But we have to be humble, until the fight is over. It's not the end, until the fight is over.
Yes, that's all I wanted to say

Is there a transcript of this conversation anywhere? If not, can you take us to the timestamp where he starts discussing masks? I really don't want to sit for 30+ minutes reading subtitles.

Also, an observation...

They're wearing masks but apparently suck at social distancing (from the video)...

Perfect example of the false sense of confidence that some mask experts warn of.

Masks are helpful, but are not the answer, and can lead to people being over confident concerning protection. The simple surgical masks are most useful in protecting others.

As far as South Korea's ability to reduce the effects of the virus it was their collective proactive and aggressive efforts to deal with the virus early.

Yes, they suck at social distancing, seeing that picture.
I think your screenshot was, where they went in to get tested for Corona Virus
Maybe just trying to get the Corona virus, before being tested

I just checked the statistics: 5 new death (51.5 million people)
We, in Holland, doing "herd immunity" have 170 new death (17.5 million people)
They must be doing something really good then, that even social distancing is not really needed

Not according to this expert on corona virus, who is a doctor living in South Korea

But a bit further in the video is mentioned, that the Prime Minister urged them to also keep social distancing
And South Koreans are quite good in listening (compared to Americans and Dutch people)
So probably the Prime Minister saw the same picture as you did, and acted on it
The youth (20-30) messes up still, it was said in the interview

Key in fighting Corona Virus is humility ... arrogance is the way to lose ... youngster need to learn
Those final words of him were great ... this was a great interview

Social distances was not the primary way South Korea reduced the impact of the viruses. It was aggressive proactive testing, isolation and tracking of those effected by the virus from the very beginning. The wide spread use of N95 masks also helped, and yes the young like in many countries did not often take the virus seriously.
