Led Zeppelin re-unite!!!!!

Can't brain. Has dumb.
Ok, I am amazed and astounded, and kind of angry too.

Led Zeppelin are looking at re-joining for a one-off gig in London (minus John Bonham, naturally - his son will take over on the skins)

Amazed and astounded because I never thought this would occur.

I'm angry because I live in New Zealand, and 25,000,000 people have registed for buying tickets to this single show. My chances of getting tickets by registering now? <0.0

I am a HUGE Led Zeppelin fan and would wish more than anything to see their magic live and on stage.

More than 20 million fans register interest

*sigh* If only I had the means to get there!!!!

From what I heard on the radio today, a spokes person said something along the lines of "If the enjoy this show, and get along well, they MIGHT do more than just this one. But at this stage we're looking at a single show"

"Pick-'n'-mix-ism"
Picknmixism. I love it.

Yeah... I used to be a total Zep-head in highschool.
They were numero uno on my list...
(with Pink Floyd in at a close second)

Do you think Page will play even sloppier NOW on stage...
then he did on the bootlegs I heard all those years ago?

I hope the show is well recorded.
It would be so stupid if it wasn't.

Hope a ticket manifests for you ...
there in your personal reality trip.
Reach out in some kind of way for the tickets...
however improbable.

Why not? right?

Well I have already seen them twice and Robert Plant solo (with Phil Collins on drums) once, so I can live without seeing this performance.

I thought the devilish little mouse looked like just a bit of a show off!
Hehe. True. Not to worry, if you hang around you will get used to me, lol.
All I can say is, if you can get tickets for the show, GO... you ain't seen nothin' like this before, nor are you likely to ever see anything like it again. Led Zeppelin is unique... and very, very loud.

I saw them in the 70s with Bonham. It was a great show.

I have a DVD of them performing most of my favorite songs (No Quarter) with them at their musical best: sober, enthusiastic, in top form and accompanied by a host of terrific professional musicians. So to be honest, I can't see how this latest get-together could NOT be musically disappointing. Plant's voice is not what it was. Page's playing is not what it once was. J. P. Jones hasn't played with them in decades.

Don't get me wrong. There is definitely some fun and excitement to be had in the idea of them actually getting together, old farts that they are, and playing some real rock-n-roll. And I really enjoyed Pink Floyd's reunion a few years ago. But the truth is that the music itself will not be all that great - not compared to what it once was. Time has it's way with us all, and that's just the way it is.

I'm probably going to get my head pounded in for saying this but, as much as I like Led Zep...I have no interest in seeing them live. I'm not much for watching old farts on stage....especially Mick Jagger. I prefer to remember the classic rock bands in all their heyday glory.

This is totally random, but a friend of mine has that sticker (your AV) on her fridge. I thought it was funny..... also, I dont think this show will be what it once was.... there's always DVD's for that though :)

I swear was born several decades late and in the wrong country. I missed out on ALL the good music. Well - most of it - I also like some new bands.

But then again, my past life could well have ended in a drug-overdose at woodstock or something! :p Well... They DO say that if you remember it you weren't there right....?

But oh, if I got the tickets I'd be on a high for months and months and months

I wish I could go. There is no doubt it will be recorded for a CD and DVD release, but watching or listening to it can never come close to capturing the effect of being there.
Hopefully they will get along and do a few shows in the states.

I bought my first Led Zepplin album in 1969. I saw them in concert in the 70's. It was awesome.

I really wish John Paul Jones would have recorded on his own. His keyboard and bass playing was awesome. Very few bass players could keep up with Jimmy Page.

Actually, you might be pleased to check out his web site. JPJ was a professional studio musician before he joined up with his fellow professional studio player, Jimmy Page, to form Zepplin. Both he and Page had an extensive studio career before forming Zepplin. And after JPJ left Zepplin he continued to produce both solo albums of his own music and he produced many other artists music as well. He is still very active in the music scene and has a wide range of musical interests, as does Robert Plant.
