Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won his first Oscar for survival epic The Revenant, after six nominations.

He was named best actor at the 88th Academy Awards, with Brie Larson named best actress for Room.

Spotlight took home the best picture Oscar with Mad Max: Fury Road picking up the most awards of the night, with six accolades.

Mark Rylance won the best supporting actor Oscar, with fellow Briton Sam Smith winning best original song.

Yay, Leo deserves it! Even though I haven't seen the Revenant yet, I just know he deserves it after all these years. :D

Also happy with that Best Supporting Actor award for Mark Rylance. Bridge of Spies is truly a great film, the contrast of the American justice system to the Soviet one is great and it's the classic Spielberg film about one man who can change a lot by taking a moral stand, and it's all a true story which is great stuff.

Did anyone watch the Oscars? It's far too late for a Brit but I watch the highlights, those are probably the only bits worth watching anyway.

I've just watched his speech, and I am really impressed by the modesty and humility of this actor, who has always showed great versatility (and talent), in playing very different and difficult roles, since he was very young.
I am really happy for him. And I am glad he won the award for a film directed by González Iñárritu, one of my favorite directors.

that kid from beasts of no nation should have won it, Leo have many great performances but I don't think revenant is his best, felt like him trying very hard

SULTAN PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU DARE!
Really?!
How much carbon emissions does a private jet aircraft leave COMPARED
to the emissions of ONE steel manufacture????????????????????????
Calculate each: ONE steel plant Vs. ONE flight of 500 miles of a private
two engine aircraft in an 8 hour day.
DO THE MATH AND POST IT OR ADMIT YOU ARE TALKING FROM YOUR
BROWN ROUND!
Atta boy. Gives ya a bit of home work don't it????
This might stop you talking from the brown round and make you give some stats to
your fanciful posts.

I'm sorry I can't stop laughing at 'brown round'. That's too good.

Yeah it is too funny. As a cop I had to ask prisoners to "expose the brown round"
as they would stuff drugs up there to make the "welcome to the hotel" a bit more
pleasurable.
Yeeeeech!
