.....that Donald rises above what we've seen, & becomes a great president.
I'd like more peace, better governance, less rancor, & a stronger economy.
Same for the rest of the world....even my arch enemy, @Wireyania.

Its impossible for that to happen.

Although I would have said it highly unlikely, apparently many atheists/agnostics have turned prophets and have revealed to us what Trumps term will be like. There is no hope. The world is coming to its final resting point.

Yep, I hope that in spite of everything I've heard come out of his mouth, he will be vastly better than he was during the campaign. I suspect he will make us long for the good ole days of GW. But I would be happy to be wrong.

I think you meant to post this in the Jokes thread, maybe talk to the moderators about moving it??

Hope is all we have at this point (barring his own criminal conviction costing him his position). But to be honest, I see absolutely nothing redeeming in the man. I sincerely doubt he has the capacity to even approach any of these feats.

The first part was serious.
But such should always be tempered with some mirth.

So keep the mods away from me thread, ya long haired, lute strum'n, carrot eat'n, kangaroo wrangler!

Ugh!
Those were dark days.....exactly the kind I hope Trump will avoid.
 But...... he ran like Bush, quacked like Bush, voted like Bush. That's why sane people voted for ANYONE other than Trump. :(

I suspect that he will sponsor a few projects of his own....smile for the cameras....and generally indulge in his own narcissistic self-trumpiness. Meanwhile, in a dark mirror of Bush Jr. he (and the more sinister VP Pence) will rubber-stamp EVERYTHING the legislative republican old guard wants, and they will scratch Trumps backside in turn.

AFAIK, there are no criminal proceedings against Trump.
So instead of hoping for that, I'll stake my hopes on his performing well.
May the dice favor us.

I know sane people on both sides of that fence.
We had a terrible & difficult choice.
So I don't fault many Hillary voters for being anti-Trump voters.
It will be good for everyone's mental health to avoid uber-pessimism.
(The same would be true if Hilda had won.)

Ya know if the words 'mod' and 'kangaroo' are put in the same post, I am irresistibly drawn, right?

The sentiment in the OP is a good one, though. And in fact, so was at least some of Trump's acceptance speech. I say 'some' because I only heard snippets.
Not the result I was hoping for, but time to make the best of it.

You've a stronger stomach than I.
I won't listen to the speech.

Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of people really understood what was at stake in this election. I don't like Clinton either, but the two were not at all comparable evils.

I found them amenable to comparison, even if the flavors of each one's evils differ.

Since he's what were stuck with, I sincerely do hope he does well, without messing up education, economy, and employment, and without dismantling rights, freedom, and equality.

I am disturbed by how easily it is to convince the american people to **** in their own mouths.

Your imagery notwithstanding, I agree.
