I'm vegetarian but was lactarian for a long time and fruitarian for a while. Fruitarianism wrecked my health and I'm still trying to recover.

I follow no dietary restrictions, but with the side note that I do believe an animal should be slaughtered in a humane way and not hunted for "sport". I follow the Buddha's rule that I do not slaughter a living creature with my own hands, and I do not attend live slaughters.

Today there is no to be sure you are getting humanly slaughtered animals. Even much of the organic free ranged meat is slaughtered in the same place that the other meats are slaughtered. There are Many cases of animals that beaten that tortured by the employees just for the fun of it. There is no real supervision of this by governmental agencies.

I voted lacto-vegetarian... but there are times that I crave eggs. I do not eat them, neither do I eat them in pastries in cakes, since I try to read the labels.

I have been vegetarian for five and a half years now and counting. I am still unsure about unfertilised chicken eggs (like eating a human placenta, a potential chick, chicken period, chicken menses, liquid flesh, etc.), although I still crave eggs sunny-side up, or scrambled eggs and rice...

Vegetarian but Vegan wannabe. I just love milk and cheese soooo much. But Veganism is a possibility for me in the future.

Non-restrictive. Although I am cutting down on meat. (Vegie meals two or three days of the week).
And I am brewing my beer with 100% organic ingredients.

I consider myself self restricted. I can eat anything however I believe to much red meat is not good for me.

I prefer to eat fish and vegtables but good fish is not always readily available and vegtables just don't do it for me by themselves.

So I'm not restricted by any thing but concern for my health.

I am curious hindupridemn, what is the rationale that makes one attracted to Fruitarianism?

-Killing living beings to eat them is unnecessary ( or whatever people prefer to call).
-Vegatables are living beings.
-Animals are living beings.
-Eggs are potential living beings/incentive to the industry that kills chickens/abusive use of chickens.
-Milk can be seen as incentive to the industry that kills cows/abusive use of cows.
-Fruits are not living beings.

I guess that sums up what may make some people go to fruitarianism.

What is it called to only eat bread?

I know a man that is very strict when it comes to meals, he is about to die from cancer but when he got the news he was about to die he chose to only eat things that are not alive at all, plants are living etc.

I'm not sure what he eats, I don't think bread is living so what is that called?
