Assuming that the sabbath mentioned in Leviticus 23:11 is referring to the 7th day Sabbath, does anyone know if the shops in Isreal would have opend up the next day - the day when the omer was lifted up by the priest?

I recognize that this post is in the Christianity DIR... though I can't imagine why you decided to put this thread here instead of, perhaps, in the Abrahamic Religions DIR, or a more general discussion forum...

But I can't help but point out that the sabbath mentioned in Leviticus 23:11 is the 15th of Nisan (Passover).

But either way, it's fair to assume the shops would have opened up the day after any sabbath.
