Liberals feel/think if you don't support Biden, then you are a MAGA

Well...why are Americans are obsessed with Putin and Ukraine, then?
:)
Two reasons.

1) Ukraine is a sovereign state being invaded for no reason.

2) Russia is a threat to the world. They have already used coordinated campaigns to interfere in elections, and spread a lot of propaganda. Now, actually invading another country just because they think it should be theirs, is a pretty huge deal, and it affects the whole world.

Americans aren't obssessed with Putin. He's gets in the news here and there for his aggressive invasions, iron fisted rule and corrupt elections but it's no more an obsession with Xi or Macron.
As for Ukraine, Uncle Sam may be a ******* but many Americans tend to feel concerned when innocent people are getting killed (it's finally even gotten Uncle Sam to not 100% back Israel for a change) and a democracy is threatened.

But you conflated two different things. There is support for Trump, and there is support for the Republican party despite Trump.

If you support Trump, you are MAGA. That's his slogan, and it's the name given to his followers.

If you vote republican are you supporting Trump by default?

If you vote republican are you not supporting Trump?
Sort of, but it's possible to vote against the other guy too. I'm mainly just saying that "I support Trump" is different from "I'm going to vote Republican". You can vote Republican without being MAGA. You can't support Trump without being MAGA.

Sort of? If voting republican helps put him in the white house that's support.

So anyone that votes republican, even if they despise Trump, even if they are just voting for the party will be considered a MAGA

Don't like Biden then you're a MAGA

What a crock of crap!

Speaking for myself I don't like either one. Both need to go away. I can't believe these two are the best America has to offer. Its embarrassing

One belongs in a psych ward, the other in a nursing home.

Just look at them....
One rambles on with narcissistic BS, and its all about him.
The other just rambles on and has to be lead around like a child.

How anyone can have any confidence in either of them baffles me.

But is it really confidence? Or is it party loyalty?

Party loyalty is destructive in itself IMO because its about nothing but the party. We have had these two parties for many years but in the last 25ish years they have became destructive to everything they touch or don't like.
All they see and their followers see is its about them.

The two parties suck! Wise up and accept that.

They both hinder each other which in turn hinder the people.

Its time we get rid of politician lifers, bring in new blood that can and will actually try to make changes for the best, for the people instead of for themselves.

We are 100% where we are because of the games and BS the two parties play.

Wise up folks.
Well, I now know I am not a Liberal.
What is the opposite of Liberal?
I know I am not one of them either.

Wonder what that makes me..?

The opposite of liberalism would be totalitarianism, wouldn't it?
I do not know.
People throw the labels around like candy on Halloween, so I honestly have no idea what they even mean most the time.

Add to that that there does not seem to be any manner of consensus on definitions of said labels...

Definitions:

Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, right to private property and equality before the law.

Totalitarianism is a political system and a form of government that prohibits opposition political parties, disregards and outlaws the political claims of individual and group opposition to the state, and controls the public sphere and the private sphere of society.

So, liberals will win unless we end up with a fascist dictatorship. All I was saying.

PS Those are both cut-and-paste. I am not that articulate.

But even if it were true...can Americans mind their own fabulous business and leave it to us Europeans? ;)
I guess if it's something on European soil...it's our turn to take care.

Yes, they are. They give money to Zelenskyy. Billions of dollars on warfare to Ukraine, whereas millions of Americans can't afford a proper healthcare, and don't get treated. That's inacceptable.
Maybe to whatever sources of yours lying to you about straight guys being pariah here, but no. Average, ordinary Americans are not obsessed with him.

Based upon the usage of the terms right here on RF, neither of those definitions apply...

Yeah, no, that's not how it works. You can point out that they still tacitly support him, but if someone is MAGA, it means they specifically support Trump. They want Trump to be president. Some people who will vote Republican don't specifically want Trump. Kind of like how a lot of Democrats didn't want Hillary and don't want Biden. Being MAGA specifies direct support for Trump himself, not just "anti-Democrat".

There ya go then. It won't be MAGA's putting Trump back in the white house if he wins, it will be republicans.

I haven't read all the way through this thread so forgive me if this has already been said.

I am frightened by the current situation. Here's how you too can be frightened.

Read up on Germany in the 1930s. Note how a form of insanity grew to a nation wide movement that took over an otherwise normal people and ended up needing six years of warfare to stop it and that sucked in most of the rest of the World. In its early stages it could have been stopped. (This is not a direct comparison between Hitler and Trump and not the only example in history. Just that there seems to be a streak of insanity in humanity that can be harnessed and directed by a certain type of person to catastrophic results.)

Note what Trump has said about what he will do if elected. Not what others have said about him, his own words.

If you are able to talk to a MAGA person, try avoiding politics and just get to know them. You'll probably find a reasonable, often kind-hearted person that you want to be friends with. Now try to discuss Trump. Suddenly you are in an alternate reality.

Are you frightened yet? If so, vote for Biden. You don't have to like him, you don't have to admire him (I personally do). Just vote to stop Trump ever being in the White House again. We can get back to disputing all the other stuff when that is done.
