Entire library in a small town in MI has been defunded over an LGBTQ book, that was aimed at adults.

Legitimately in a Culture War at this point, and it's pathetic.

I don't get it.

If you don't like the book, don't read the book! There's no need to destroy/censor/remove the material. Just don't read it. Its not that difficult.

There are all kinds of books at the library I don't want to read. That doesn't mean I should push to have the place shut down.

Jamestown has a small population of 8,618. They can decide for themselves what books are appropriate for their own community.

It is their community. Their library. I approve of them controlling what books to include on their own shelves. Why would I object to that? I can still create my own libraries online and at home.

Why do you think anyone needs to control what books are available to the public in a public library? After all, a public library is for every member of the public, not just the ones that don't like gay content. Or the ones that are Christian, or the ones that are white, or the ones that ... whatever.
