BRATTLEBORO — A southern Vermont-based radio station will trade in the rhetoric of Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts for the liberal commentary of Air America next week.

WKVT-AM 1490 in Brattleboro will replace four of its weekday syndicated conservative talk shows on Jan. 17 with programs from the fledgling liberal radio network Air America, which launched in March.

The station will be the second in Vermont to broadcast Air America programs, which include shows hosted by comedian Al Franken and actress Jeanne Garofalo

This is so... so perfectly awesome. Franken and other liberals replacing Limbaugh... I hope I'm not dreaming, because if I am it's going to suck to come back to reality.

I encourage everyone to check out some of the Air America programs. They provide a needed balance to mainstream media which present a viewpoint far to the right of that of the rest of the world, or even the American politics of 20 or 30 years ago.

If you can't argue either side of a controversial topic, you're not familiar enough with it to hold a valid opinion.

Is this considered a Limbaughtomy? :D

I am sure it will be DOWNRIGHT refreshing.

That radio station has just LEFT the Bush League. :D

But how far to the right and how much social damage before then?

Cf: Germany, 1930s-40s.

That's a very good question. I don't know the answer to it. I am sure of one thing though: The fact that a few stations in Vermont have dumped Rush Limbaugh in favor of more liberal broadcasting is no indication in itself that the pendulum is begining to swing to the left.

i always found it funny that all these conservatives on fox news and such say that the U.S. media is too liberal when most of the media is controlled by conservatives.

We used to have this saying in college when someone did something really stupid:

Bend over and crack a smile! :D

But back to Rush. I truly don't believe that HE believes everything he espouses. He knows just what to say to get his following all in a dither and he does it masterfully. He gives new meaning to the phrase "Don't Rush to a decision." :D
