Little Jimmy and B&W movies.

Little 7 year old Jimmy has a problem. It seems that the only movies he likes are the newer releases that are in color. Everytime Little Jimmy's parents suggest an older B&W film, Little Jimmy says that he doesn't want to watch it because it is not in color. What B&W movie would you recommend to Little Jimmy's parents that will once and for all topple Little Jimmy's apprehension about B&W movies?

Try the Wizard of Oz as a bridge. It has both and my daughter was facinated by the change. Also, Pleasantville might work for that too.

If Jimmy were a girl I'd definitely recommend Shirley Temple movies. What about Spanky and Our Gang?

That'll fix him and the 11 years of therapy sessions that will follow should iron out some other problems Little Jimmy's been sporting.
Then I suggest staying away from Un Chien Andalou. ;)

The Gold Rush and Safety Last come to mind immediately. But I am a Harold Lloyd fan and think The Kid Brother is an underrated masterpiece. And monkeys in boots are inherently funny no matter what age you are!

Young Frankenstein. Hilarious, classic, and intentionally filmed in black and white!

Can you imagine being 7 years old and living in the Circle_One household and receiving the full education on George Romero films?

Best desciption of heaven I ever heard!

If you're going there you might as well hit all the Hammer films. :D I know when I was 7 I loved the old Dracula, Wolfman and other horror films.

"The Children of the Night! What movies they made"

:biglaugh: Ummm, no.

"Uh-oh kids, Auntie Buttercup's here. Quick; hide the cadavers and chainsaws"!
