I think it's pretty dishonest.

Most of the "lockdown states" they list had their highest death rates early on in the pandemic, involving people who largely got infected before widespread restrictions were enacted.

Lockdown vs open is a false duality. CA has multiple states of partial lockdown from yellow (mostly open), orange, red and purple. Lockdown is even more locked than purple.

And all those colors are automatic based on several factors based on measurement.

I don't live in US, so I can't speak for US, but as for Holland I have proof that Dutch death numbers have been fabricated and are totally unreliable

So, IMO, no honest Dutch scientist could in good conscience make claims on corona deaths at this time. If they do make claims they have a hidden agenda

Not only Canada. Germany has gone from poster child to bad. We are failing hard at vaccination.
We also fail at corona policies. People don't follow regulations any more, sometime because they didn't realize that the rules had changed again, sometimes because they just loath them.

And if it's not the state that somehow utterly failed to seal off an island, it's the people like they are here (specifically in California where the state at least tried) who behaves selfishly destructive and selfishly self destructive all in the name of "individual liberties."

Locked down, but coming out of it, step by cautious step. We in the UK are doing better now than many of those countries that have not - largely because of (uncharacteristically) good planning on vaccine supply and, very importantly I think, a high level of trust in the vaccines, due to the faith the British have in the National Health Service.

I am from Sweden and Switzerland. The first very open, the second fairly open. Doing as good, at least, as other countries that imprisoned their citizens.

For instance, in Switzerland we never shutdown ski resorts (I just spent a few weeks vacations there), but that does not seem to have create the apocalypse that so-called experts prophesied.

Here in Michigan we have been more closed than most other states, and that has been a good thing overall. Problem is that now the UK variance of covid is running rampant as it is much more contagious and somewhat more deadly than the original strain that came here from Italy. Our Canadian neighbor, Ontario, is running across the same thing, and they now are in an in-place lockdown for at least April.

I also like Amsterdam, at least when its a sunny day, that makes all the difference (for me at least)
