Logging in on a smart-phone

Martin

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
It's a nightmare trying to navigate this forum on a smart-phone, because the forum contents keep moving up and down, and half the time I hit the wrong place.
Is this due to adverts continually repositioning themselves on the screen?

I never have any luck with any phone browser, myself.

I do the majority of my posting by phone with no problems, my trick is ...
Wait until the lifelong membership is on offer and invest. Premium members don't get ads and all the annoyance simply goes away.

Alternatively get adblock or one of the browsers with an ad blocker included

It's due to adverts that are still loading, causing the page to shift to accommodate their size once they appear.

Personally, I don't use an add blocker because I don't want to deny revenue to a site that I frequent and favor.

As far as i know, pay per impression internet advertising has gone the way of the dodo. Ads now are mostly on a pay per click basis. As most people don't click the ads, the revenue relies on the occasional ad of interest or a error click and is really very low.

The annoyance with RF and other sites is with the way the pages are rendered. HTML deprecated the table height directive some years ago so now browsers don't know how much space to allow when rendering a page. It renders what is available then adds the ads, only at this time does the browser know how much space to allow and moves things down to fit.

Thought i too won't block advertising It seriously annoyed me, hence the reason i opted for premium membership.

RF gets its revenue in one hit and the annoyance factor is no more

Well a car is better than a garage and car...
A friend had a garage built of local stone to match his house. The day after it was signed off as complete we had a storm which brought down a tree that literally chopped the building in two down to car level

I hate it when that happens.
