Looking for a verse

Hi,

I'm looking for a verse in the OT where it says that God isn't like anything that swim in the sea, walk on earth or fly in the sky...

I just can't find it!

Thank you for helping me out!

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Maybe some of these are what you're looking for. Also, read the book of Job - it's full of language similar to what it seems you're looking for.

Job 12:7‑10
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Genesis 1:26‑31
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Then God said, I give you every seed‑bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground‑‑everything that has the breath of life in it‑‑I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Genesis 2:19‑20
Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.

Psalm 8:6‑8
You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

Hosea 4:1‑3
Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites, because the LORD has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: "There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying."

The only thing I can think of that comes close is from exodus

Exodus 20:4 (English Standard Version)

4(A) "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thank you my friend, I just wanted to learn the context from a Christian... this doesn't do any harm, does it?

It was the transparency of your little trap that led me to the passage you were ''looking'' for not the content of the op. Perhaps you should consider being honest about your intentions in future, and fyi , I'm not a Christian.
