Looking for friendly Goddesses

Sirona

Hindu Wannabe
Hi forum,

I've been reading / meditating about goddesses lately, Most of what I read is about Hinduism / Shaktism and I've been into Greek polytheism since childhood. I found that a large part of the goddesses I read about do stand for sexuality, death & the subconscious. Therefore, I'm looking for Goddesses who do not fit into this pattern from all kinds of polytheist religions. I'm open for suggestions. :rose:

I consider her somewhat of a death Goddess, so didn't include her on my list(as the author didn't want sex, death, or subconscious Goddesses).
Yes, but Kali, as I understand it, is one of the most misunderstood goddesses in the Hindu pantheon.

From what I've read, she is sometimes portrayed as a loving mother goddess with a love so fierce for her devotees that she destroys ego, ignorance and evil.

That makes good sense to me.

I think sometimes it does a deity disservice to just equate "god/dess of [fill in blanks]". They are every bit as complex as a person(more so in most cases).

Aphrodite often gets viewed as only a sexual goddess, but I find her to be intelligent and strong. Lakshmi sometimes gets equated with wealth only, but to me she is so full of love.

I imagine folks experience them differently, too, much the same way we do with people. Kind of like one person might say I'm kind, yet another will call me an ***.

Goddesses are poisonous like all Gods. You'll find none.
I'm sorry you've had negative experiences with gods and goddesses, but these experiences are your own, not everyone else's. There's no reason to spread toxicity to another's path. Clearly, by the posts above, there are those that have had positive experiences.

If you want to talk about your experiences in another thread, we'll listen. But I see it as bad form to bring this here. No good comes from destroying the spiritual path of another.

What on earth are you talking about?

I've certainly never had any personal problems with any Gods/Goddesses, they seem to keep their distance from me. It's the experiences of others with their Gods and Goddesses, which can be problematic. I find.
