As the sun starts going down for us in the Northern Hemisphere, moods often follow. Coupled with both the excitements, let downs and financial challenges that crop up during the winter months, this is a difficult time of year for many.

With that in mind, I'd like to take a moment to focus on the things that are 'looking up'. Projects that are going smoothly, conditions that are improving, or any other optimistic happenings you'd like to share.

What's looking up for you right now?

I got promoted from department chair to Assistant Dean at my university, and changes that Joe Biden made to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program wiped out my student loans last Friday. It was a good week!

I'm slowly beginning my early partial retirement. I've taken this week off to get personal and home projects accomplished.

Sold my truck.
Sold one of my motorcycles. May sell the Harley next.
Bought yet another motorcycle! Fun! Fun!
Cleaning my greenhouse for expansion.
Had repairs completed on my tiny cabin at the lake. I'll need that for my birthday getaway.
Finished Christmas shopping for family and friends.
I plan on spending time with my animals on the weekend. They need and want their momma.

We paid off our mortgage this month!
