Loss of loved one....

Hope

Just wanted to ask for people's prayers for myself and my family. My grandfather---or, as I call him, 'Grandpa'---passed away today. His health had been steadily declining for the past several months, so it wasn't a surprise, but it's still hard. He's the closest family member I've lost so far. He's survived by his wife, my Grandma. Pray for her especially.

He was the most wonderful grandfather, and he will be missed so much. :(

Thanks so much....

April I am so sorry. I know how important family is to you. I wish I could give you a hug right now. You are an amazing writer. When you get some time later next year write a little about him. Talk about who he was an what he did and blog it on the net somewhere. As a memorial. Your grandmother is lucky to have some like you to nuture her. You are a deeply caring person.

I will definitely be praying for both of them. I honor your grandfather, and what he brought to this life, and celebrate what he will bring to the next.

Hope,

You have my deepest sympathy. It's been years since my Grandpa passed away, but I'll never forget how I felt. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family -- especially your Grandma. Take care, and look forward with hope and faith to your reunion with him.

Hope, I am so sorry. There are no words good enough for the situation. As you say, the hardest hit will be your grandmother; I hope and pray that she will have the fortitude to get through this abysmal period of her life..........

My prayers, of course, go to you, and any other family members.

I lost my daughter a few years ago. It seemed to take forever before her memory brought more smiles than tears, but it happens in its own time. May your grandfather's memory be a source of blessing and inspiration for you and your family.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandpa .
I lost mine 49 years ago and I still think of him and all he did for us.
I hope you can all give comfort to your Grandma through this very hard time,as her whole life will have lost its focus.
You and yours have my prayers at this sad time.

I really, really appreciate everyone's kind words, and prayers, more than I can say. God will bless all of you. My grandmother, by the way, is in good hands. She's got 3 children, and 12 grandchildren to look after her---all love her dearly. She's a tough little lady too. She took care of my Grandpa faithfully and diligently for the last 5 years, as his health declined. She's an amazing woman.

Woah, this is almost an exact reply of when my grandpa died a could years ago. He died slowly of stomach cancer, and, well, it just kinda strikes me how similar the case is. Hope, I know how you feel, and know that my prayers are with you and your grandma. God bless.
