and the result is protest everywhere...
because socialists have won parliamentarian elections.

I mean socialism is light years away from the so called fuchsia Left of :candy::candy:Macron Le Bonbon:candy::candy:

That's why we socialists dislike this vomitous, obscene self-proclaimed, Left. Ruled by bankers.

Michel Barnier is not a socialist.
He is a technocrat like Draghi

aka Dragons

Barnier will only stay prime minister if he can form a government.
There is no certainty either way.. if he can it was a legitimate appointment.
We do not know if the socialists were asked if they could form a government or not.

You are reminding me of when our president tried to appoint an unelected Freemason as PM.
The Italian people threatened to assault the Quirinal Palace.

That Freemasonic choice was withdrawn.

They didn't win a majority. There are 577 seats and they won the largest number 182, but not a majority. That would have required 289 seats.
No...but democracy requires that the Prime Minister is from the coalition who got the most votes.

Why do you think people are protesting against Macron's decision?

;)

Enlighten me, then.
So...according to what criteria was Barnier chosen as PM?

Read the constitution and other relevant laws. He was appointed by the president according to the rules I would assume. If that wasn't the case, please site the relevant part in the constitution or other laws. You can do it in French if you have.

Barnier is from the Republicans. 60 seats
The image I linked you shows the Popular Front has got 182 seats...

Very democratic. Wow.

Imagine if the democratic socialists win the Danish elections and the king decides to appoint a conservative.
Is that possible in the fatherland of Hamlet?
