Madonna, 63, faces backlash over steamy bedroom photo

Sgt. Pepper

All you need is love.
Conservative YouTuber, Abby Shapiro, tweeted this controversial statement, "This is Madonna at 63. This is Nancy Reagan at 64. Trashy living vs. Classic living. Which version of yourself do you want to be?" and she included a photo of Madonna's steamy pose on a bed and a quaint family photo of Nancy Reagan with her grandchildren. Abby Shapiro is now facing backlash herself, and she's accused of ****-shaming Madonna by Madonna fans, and numerous others who don't approve of her criticism of the Material Girl.

Madonna, 63, Faces Backlash Over Steamy Bedroom Photo As She’s Compared To Nancy Reagan At 64

My question is, do you agree or disagree with Abby Shapiro's criticism of Madonna? Personally, I wouldn't dress like Madonna in her steamy photo or how she dresses otherwise, and I never have. I'm more modest in the way I choose to dress and present myself. That being said, I still don't approve of ****-shaming women. I also don't approve of people sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. Admittedly, I can't help but wonder why Madonna would post a steamy photo like that if she wasn't trying to draw attention to herself. Surely she realized that there would be some people who would criticize her for the photo. It is provocative.

Do you think releasing this photo was Madonna's attempt to stay relevant and in the spotlight? What do you think?

I'd criticise Nancy Reagan for being such a bore.
Not a great fan of Madonna but she always winds up the conservative base

Abby Shapiro is just being a snowflake probably inconsistent liberal and her brother is a living meme/ghoul (this is literally the USA look at a billboard "steamy photos" are perpetual here), of course this was an attempt to be relevant (she achieved her aim), yes it is degenerate, I know nothing about Nancy Reagan other than that she was married to a ghoul, and no none of this matters.

Such are my immediate takes probably to never be revised as long as I live, and quickly forgotten by me as I keep living.

Nothing wrong with a little granny porn.

Experience counts for a material girl!

I don't really care what any of them do...

And I think if Abby Shapiro(whoever she is) is that bothered by something Madonna did, she probably needs a new hobby.

The article says that "Abby and her brother are quite popular commentators on the right, with Abby’s “Classically Abby” channel — featuring videos that detail how women should dress “modestly” and be pro-life — gathering numerous followers."

Madonna's? No. She's relevant. Madonna has a lot of fans, and she has expressed gratefulness to her fans. It entirely explains the photo in my opinion. Even I am curious how she is getting on, because her music is always on everywhere. She's bigger than Elvis, and that takes some doing.

This was Shapiro trying to expand the Shapiro brand by piggybacking upon the fame of people who have earned fame -- perhaps unconsciously. Its the same as if Shapiro had dug up one of Dolly Parton's old photos or Sheri Lewis. Its not any different.

There's a big culture of ragging on the lives of others.

In fact I think its always been that way.

If yes, then it doesn't count as 'sticking the nose where it doesn't belong'.

I'd criticise Nancy Reagan for being such a bore.

Can't remember where I read it and I certainly can't vouch for its accuracy, but I once read that Nancy Reagan (nee Davis) was once renowned for giving the best blow jobs in Hollywood :D

Madonna's been an exhibitionist for decades, and taste has never exactly been her strong suit. One might as well criticise a cat for catching birds.

Speaking as a 67yr old, I do feel, myself, that I want to make sure I don't carry on trying to do things that I can't do well at my age, just because everyone is too polite to tell me I'm becoming an embarrassment. I don't want to be "that guy", as my son would say. But somehow I don't think Madonna cares about that;).

Why else would she do it?
Nothing new here, it's the same person she always was and why would this YouTuber not be allowed to give her opinion on the subject?

Yes, she released the steamy photo in question, and a series of similar photos, on her Instagram. I can see your point about it shouldn't count as sticking your nose where it doesn't belong since she published the racy photos herself on social media.

And this is why I’m skeptical of claims from conservative leaning folks that they favour libertarianism. Like if that were true they wouldn’t give a damn about something like this.
Also someone once told me that Abby looks like Ben just with makeup on and I can’t unsee it
