Well yes , s its origins in the Age of Enlightenment , in France where on one side of parliament social reformers sat on the ' left.' Now along with the its precedents in earlier movements along with Hegelian dialectics, inequities of the new industrial revolution etc. I am not here to get into a long protracted historical philosophical discussion, other than to say it was all encapsulated in The Communist Manifesto in 1848 Marx and Engels at the time of revolutions of the time.
Now we are getting to the root, That damn Enlightenment. We need to go back to the dark ages when everybody knew their place and King and Church were supreme.

Milton Friedman was wrong a lot. Like his claim capitalism and democracy are different sides of the same coin amd his absurd belief thaglt buying things is a more pure democracy than voting in a free and fair election. He also has a tragically misanthropic and suspicious view of others, thinking there is inherent greed in all of us.
Inherent greed, like, Ayn Rand,

Yeah, the highest value to any human is the individual him/her/they/itself. The problem is there is no evidence for that.
Huh? Values are what define everything. there is always a stress between the autonomy of the individual, individualism and the 'collectivist ' wants and needs of society. Selfishness on one extreme, and being a drone on the other.

Ayn Rand the atheist claim halfway stands but falls short in failing to realize collectivism is an ever feeding beast, without spirituality, other replacements, self, tv, sports, statism with become deified, in effect God.

Yeah, that is your subjective opinion.
You really have a hard time noticing when you subjectively think/feel.

1. Plenty of utube videos display children at these 'parades.'
So what?
2.My' ideology' of constitutional values, faith and family are the cultural mooring of this society, losing them will be and is at a great cost.
But not every family
3. I do belong to a gym, and while on the treadmill I have on my headphones, listening to Jordan Peterson lectures.

Ayn Rand also had her grubby hands out begging for government money to help her with disease brought on by smoking, and she did it despite her writings amd despite her choosing to ignore the health warnings about smoking.

Except that isn't really a thing. Like silly idea of the Tragedy of the Commons. We don't find this happening for the thousands amd thousands of years we existed before the idea of private property was invented. The only tragedy is an anti-social assumption that is paranoid and suspicious of others began to be believed.

The 'idea' of private property, giving individuals autonomy is 'selfish' I think Mao said something about that.
