Late to this thread.

Always in my quest for knowledge are there hurdles of assumptions and beaten-in "truths". Only very recently have I been able to study religions like Satanism without constantly thinking of all the cultural influences that prevent free-thinking. I still can't even give good thought to Christianity without bias overwhelming my thoughts =P

Then you get rid of these preconceptions, and discover amazing new things! Like modern magick!

My point being, never underestimate the power of considering things from an objective angle. I've learned a lot this way.
