What do you think? Take the same exact film, but make it 3D. Can this be done properly and should it be done?

If I were to do it, I'd make just the parts where anyone is outside the matrix in 3D. In the matrix would just be 2D

I don't think so. In computer games, in TV.... Anything that isn't "real"is in 2D. I would prefer the "real world" to look more real in 3D
True, it would be more logical. But more action occurs in the Matrix than in real world, there's a few times when the machines are attacking, but I don't think there'd be enough scenes that would make the 3D worth watching if just in the real world.
Also, having to take on and off the glasses every time it switches between the real world and the matrix would be very annoying, especially at scenes like where Neo dies temporarily and when Cypher is in the real world and is killing people in the matrix. Might as well just keep it a constant 3D film.

3D is a waste...
I simply don't like it, and to me it seems to be just an excuse to charge even more than the already outrageously priced tickets for plain old 2D.
Yeah... I had to see World War Z in 3D because that was the only chance I got to see it in the movie theaters. I moved back like 3 rows after the movie started, I was almost getting a headache. Then, after I moved back those rows, and 10 minutes later I completely forgot it was 3D until the end of the movie.

Only if it's just the first one. Loved the first one but the last two were horrid atrocities.
