Manchester University Student Union bans clapping?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I never realized clapping was so ...so...so... harmful to others!

Clapping out, jazz hands in at university

Give me a round of "jazz hands" for the utter brilliance of young British minds that are probably spending way too much time in the library.

Who knows where this will lead?

"Jazz hands" at a FIFA game?

SSSShhhhh!! Quiet please.

I wonder how many people, with Autism, where behind creating and supporting this? Kind of ****ty too, assuming we can't handle clapping. And pretty lame to assume it's not something that can be learned to cope with. That's pretty much the exact opposite of what would be on the treatment plan for anyone with Autism, as you can't learn to cope if the world caters to your disorder.

I find it weird how people see this old story of the SU in Manchester and then characterise all young people, or the nation of Britain, by it.

It happens in America as well. It's sad that we're so hyper partisan even on both sides of the Atlantic now that the fringe groups are defining the whole.

People like finding outliers and dumping a load of * on top of anything they happen to dislike. Somehow the internet is supportive of such mentality where people would need to think a bit more otherwise, internet seems to support gut feelings more.

So, I guess that's what "one hand clapping" sounds like.

Personally, I don't find clapping nearly as loud or annoying as the usual hoots, "whoos," whistles, and loud cheering that typically accompanies the clapping. Clapping seems pretty tame and dignified compared to the piercing, shrill "whooooooos" which gives one a headache.

This reminds me of the age old question....
Why do farts smell?
So that deaf people can enjoy them too.

I guess PC and SJW idiocy isn't just involving us Yanks. ;0) It really makes me question people's thought processes.

What is actually going on inside peoples minds when they propose ridiculous things like this?

Do you know how old the story is?

The article came from the 2nd of this month.
To be honest, I thought it was longer ago than that but it could be then, it hit the local news one night, the papers then picked it up and not heard a thing about it since
