Marijuana

Or apparently, they can bring to the forefront something which may or may not be about to manifest, from the report's findings and other sources. The condition DOES run in my family but not only have I personally never been tempted by marijuana, I also am not mentally ill.

Not mentally ill right now, sure. Times and life has a way of tossing curveballs.

I on the other hand do have mental health issues, nothing to be ashamed of.

Actually what the report says is that if you have a genetic predisposition and use marijuana during adolescence (it doesn't say "every day") there is a heightened tendency toward schizophrenic disorders. From the report:

Do many people know their own genetic code and whether or not they are vulnerable?
Look at the "Psychosis" chart--it does say every day.
Nope, people don't know their genetics but I'm allergic to shellfish, which is genetic. Does that mean no one can have shellfish?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

So the "report" is flawed. OK. Also, I never said no one can have marijuana.

No problem, just extending to the logical conclusion:)
Nope. Here's the deal. It's NO DEAL for me one way or the other. Honestly. Adults can do whatever they want, whenever they want, as long as they're not hurting other people. Just don't expect me to fight for it because it's a total non issue for me personally.

Also, don't expect me to fight for legalization because personally I've been more negatively affected by weed than by any other substance. So not a priority to me to give marijuana users legality.

Should it be legal to not only buy it at a dispensary but also legal to grow a limited amount for personal use (both without a medical card)?

I would put a poll but people whine about polls not having their choice or enough choices.

So .... Feel free to give your own unrestricted and unlimited answer.
I'm in Canada where it's been legal for awhile. We have a street drug problem with meth and fentanyl mostly. From that POV, I wish marijuana was more available and cheaper, as it is far less dangerous to health, to society, etc. Sadly that is not the case. Booze is still a problem as well, as it's linked to drunk driving, domestic abuse, and more.

On a personal note, I'm simply not affected by any or it, other than perhaps paying higher taxes. I don't drink, don't do drugs, and live in an area of a city where the side effects of drug use (crime, homelessness) isn't that noticeable. I do wish that people had more self-control, but that's on the individual, and you can't gain self-control unless you have some lack of control in the first place. It's still a diverse society, and there is a wide range of abilities in many regards.

I'd promote its use as a medicine.

Discourage it's recreational use

Me too. Anything with proven medical benefits should be legal as medicine within normal dosing and monitoring criteria.

Especially with heavy use, there are physical and psychological problems that can occur. These should be made known with posters and warning labels.

Personally for many decades I've enjoyed I've much preferred a clear mind not clouded over with chemicals.

Yes marijuana should be legalised, but available on prescription only. That way the doctor can check if the drug is causing psychosis.
Not mentioned on this thread. Marijuana can cause short term mental problems and users are more likely to develop schizophrenia and does worsen those with preexisting schizophrenia
I was just reading about this aspect of marijuana use. Many users may not be aware of this and it’s especially more probable to occur when when people start marijuana use on a regular basis at a younger age.

This is what I support. I believe it should be regulated like and taxed along with tobacco and alcohol.
Tax? Soon it will be $20-30 for a bone. You watch. Cigs were 2.00 in 1992. Gallon Milk was like 2.00. Now milk is 3.00 and cigs are 15. Freakshow. Cigarette companies are greedy. Once the tax tops out like cigs did the black market will compete.

Marijuana should be illegal for minors. I have never used marijuana myself. I have seen it destroy the lives of others. Marijuana is not benign. It is also qualitatively different than other drugs such as alcohol. Alcohol is a simple molecule with well established effects. Marijuana's agent is a complex molecule that can produce difficult to predict effects. Anyone that thinks marijuana is fine is an idiot, or soon will be an idiot if they continue using it.
