Mark 4:38 Jesus slept?

Yeah, I wish religions could get rid of 'nasty laws', but seems God does not want that because they are there in every message he has sent to Abramamics.

Thanks everybody :)

I haven't seen any comments addressing Psalm 121. Is it a simple matter that King David ( or the author of this psalm ) did not know about God's future plan? Is it understandable for someone familiar with this Psalm to be confused?

There is a paradox, in that Jesus was fully human like the rest of us, but also reflected God attributes and spoke for God. You don't need to agree with it, but once you get your head around it, its easy.

Hopefully this is an easy one for Christians and believers in Christ:

In Mark 4, Jesus is on a boat in a storm after preaching to the crowds that gathered. The story describes his disciples waking him from sleeping in the boat. If Jesus is the Lord, why does he need to sleep?

Psalms 121:2-5
Lord does not imply divine - but, I imagine that i understand your question all the same.
Obviously, because Jesus Christ is 200% man, just like you and me. There's no such thing as a god-man, three persons in one godhead, two diametrically opposed natures, or any other diabolical nonsense that either the trinitarians or modalists have concocted out of their own vain and perverse imaginations.

That is Bahai speak, trying to sneak in Bahaollah there. ;)
You need to show evidence of existence of a God before talk more about him/her.
Atheist or followers of other religions whose views you call corrupted are not going to accept it.

I find that most Christians do .. not all, though.

Christianity is specially crafted for Gentiles. ;)
Get rid of all those 'nasty laws' that the disciples followed, and replace it with blood & cross.
No... I wouldn't call it "nasty laws" at all.

Romans 7:12 So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

It is just that we are in a different covenant.

Luke 22:20 And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood.

Hebrews 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, to the extent that He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

It isn't so much crafter for Gentiles but rather crafter for all humanity which includes Jews also.

I think that is debatable.

As Christianity grew and developed, Jewish Christians became only one strand of the early Christian community, characterised by combining the confession of Jesus as Christ with continued observance of the Torah and adherence to Jewish traditions such as Sabbath observance, Jewish calendar, Jewish laws and customs, circumcision, kosher diet and synagogue attendance, and by a direct genetic relationship to the earliest followers of Jesus.

Peter was the founder of the early Christian church in Jerusalem,
but the Church became of gentile orientation after the Jews were driven out.
It is what it is. :)

I prefer using scripture than personal viewpoints.

Romans 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

Col 3: 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

I respect that.

Yes. Almighty God created the universe and all it contains.
We can all turn to God in prayer.

The thing is, we all have different understandings. There are many creeds, and God knows best which is closer to the original faith of Jesus.
Our intention is the most important thing.
A person can have a PhD in religious studies, but without faith and sincerity, it loses its value.

Psalms 121:2-5
[Exo 20:11 NIV] 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
Let us suppose that Jesus is 'The L-RD' as many suggest. Then when he sleeps in the boat in Mark 4 what we are seeing could be related to Exodus 20:11. It could be an image of the achieved Sabbath or an implication that the final sabbath has arrived -- one of the contentions of certain Christian authors.

Let me examine the Psalm, too; since I am not familiar with it. It is a Psalm of Ascents, so this is one for ceremony upon the steps of the altar -- maybe. That is hearsay, and I don't know. Perhaps someone is climbing stairs as this is sung by a choir or by everyone, and verse three is "He will not let your foot slip -- he who watches over you will not slumber. (NIV)" It might be that the song goes faster and faster as people clap faster and faster and the procession speeds up. That would be fun. I don't know much about it.

This is perhaps someone who has been anointed with oil, and they could have very slippery feet, too! I know so little about these psalms of ascent. But I doubt that they have slippery feet, because the psalm also talks about being burned by the moon which never happens in real life.

In the psalm the person is getting so close to the moon they they might be burned by it, so while the person is climbing steps to an altar they are also climbing to heaven, somehow. It is like the tower of babel, perhaps. (Genesis 11) So there is this idea that they are moving towards heaven, which the (false) gods do not wish for them to do. They will achieve what the gods fear for them to achieve, and the Maker of Heaven and Earth will protect them as they ascend. The gods want them to stumble and fall, but someone is there to make sure they don't and will shade them from the heat and light from both sun and moon. They will succeed. They will reach the top. That is the song.

Feel free to elaborate on this ( knowing my interest would be biased towards Tanach ). It's not a debate thread, so you have plenty of room to express yourself.
