Member Opinions Needed: Would You Voluntarily Donate to Contribute to RF's Upkeep?

If RF introduced a fully voluntary option to donate to the forum and help contribute to its upkeep, say any sum starting from $5-$10 or thereabouts, would you choose to donate or not? And if yes, how often?

I voted "yes," as I have no problem with paying a reasonable amount. But I also have somewhat mixed feelings, since it also depends on having other posters here to read and interact with. There are so many forums all across the internet which seem dead or abandoned. I realize it takes revenue to run and operate a forum like this, but without posters, there's no content.

One thing I've noticed is that the last new poster signed up almost three weeks ago.

I've seen it happen where some forums just up and disappear without any warning or anything.

One thing I've noticed is that the last new poster signed up almost three weeks ago.

This has been an issue for months because of the malfunctioning email verification system, which means any new registrant wouldn't be able to be verified or start posting. The new owners have been working on fixing it since before the software update, but because the software had no effective spambot control, the service that RF used for the automated emails blacklisted RF.

Now that the forum has new software with more robust spambot control, fixing the issue should be possible, but it has proven quite challenging and complicated. The owners mentioned that the solution may cost money, hence the need for ads as well.

I'd prefer to become a paying member - after you have figured out what the membership options really mean.

Oh, and I don't have a credit card or PayPall or other fancy option. I'd like to simply wire transfer to a bank account.

As long as there is no public marker that tells if a member has donated or not. But that is just my opinion. I do get that a public marker can help.
