I have found the Internet to be so plausible when it comes to posting, it is a relationship of another kind and its nice to know a bit about a person so when reading a post you know where they are coming from.
How about an introduction of ourselves and our history and why we are here:

Well, I will start I guess...

I have practiced martial arts (Chinese) for over 30 years now. I had formal training for 18 of those years under two teachers of the same lineage- My teacher Lu Long and another his top disciple which was a Buddhist monk and very good at my teachers Kungfu and aa rare style called red hair. I am the lineage holder to a style called "Lu Long Hsing Pai" which is a family style turned Taoist, I started this style at the age of eight and continue to practice and use it. I also have trained in an old Yang Taiji style passed to my teacher while he was a general in the Chinese army. This style incorporates much fajin and is not practiced so much like the orthodox Yang that you see everywhere – is it better, not sure! I have met some skilled Yang people so to me it is just a different version of the same style. Since I Learned traditionally I had to become a proficient fighter in order for my teacher to save face. I fought in ten full contact fighting matches and was the only one to ever emerge out of the matches undefeated. I also was a personal bodyguard for many of the Chinese people good and bad folks, all depended and why.
I grew up Catholic, which I do still like the religion very much so there will be no bashing here, its just since a very young age I didnt have any faith and the Priest which was a family friend always agreed with my sentiment. I am in the middle of writing two books on how to use the rosary and all the prayers that go with it, the Catholic religion is quite beautiful to me and I hope some will be able to learn and cherish these books since it is a lost art among many of the followers. I am also in the middle of writing a few books on Taoism, which if you check out my calendar web site I believe they are mentioned.

When I was roughly 16 years of age I became an ordained Taoist and accepted into a particular lineage as a Jushi. I memorized the book of Laotzu and other scriptures across the board, as well I became proficient in various Taoist meditation practices and Taoist ritual. By the time I was of the age of 18 I became a Taoishi, a full fledged Taoist Priest within the lineage of the Pole Star sect (bejipai).
Now, I am married and have a beautiful child. My hobbies are surfing and building, racing and admiring vintage motorcycles.

Well I do not have much of a history only being 19, but here is some info.

I am engaged and have a son who is going to be one in a week. I am very interested in Taoism, Buddhism, and Neopaganism. Philosophical Taoism is the basis of my spiritual thinking. I have practiced various styles of Tai Chi on and off for about 2.5 years. If I ever got the chance to have a mentor/master I would take that opportunity. I would like to walk the path of the Scholar Warrior, but it is not very plausible at the moment. I am in a community college right now trying to get my Associate of Science, then I will be off to acupuncture school to get a master in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

So that is about it. At least off the top of my head.

Hello there, I'm Dan. :D

I have been practicing martial arts, (Korean and Japanese) for 15 years, and started my Chinese martial arts practice about 5 years into that. My Taoist training came from my Chigong instructor, as well as from my zen influenced arts of Kenjutsu and Tangsoodo. I majored in philosophy and theology for my first 2 years of college, and although I didn't finish college, my study thereof has only increased. I also studied zen buddhism at a Soto Zen temple in my area. I taught chigong and zazen quite often at different holistic centers and privately for about 5 years, and lectured on Tao Jia at various churches and colleges. I now focus on teaching taoist and zen philosophy via my kenjutsu (japanese sword) classes. I carry a Tao Te Ching around with me everywhere I go, and have done so for almost 10 years. I read it all the time, and while I like to think I know alot about it. Being that I am not Chinese, I know there are many cultural boundaries that I just simply can't breakthrough (and from having a Chinese master, it's very apparent to me). This is the reason I consider myself a pantheist, and not a taoist, or a zen buddhist. Even though, zen buddhism would be considered my greatest influence (being that my martial arts experience has been engrossed by kenjutsu and tangsoodo, and the zen influence from that).

And as always, I learn more from a stream than I ever could from books or human instructors.
Peace!
Dan

I have a lot of respect for Taoism, I also carry a copy of TTC with me all the time, usually it takes me to read a paragraph and I have enough to contemplate upon for next three weeks or so..
